One of our clients’ Little Greek Taverna, based in South Brisbane needs a skilled and experienced chef.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Preparing for service, which includes ensuring the kitchen is well stocked with the necessary ingredients, as well as cleaning, cutting and marinating food. Refer to Kitchen Shift Par Level Stock list attached.
• Cooking and serving food, while coordinating with other kitchen staff and wait staff.
• Maintaining a clean and safe workspace and abiding by workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
• Ensuring the equipment is cleaned and sanitized and in good working order.
• Ensuring that dishes meet a high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation.
• Controlling portion size and minimizing waste.
• Ensuring supplies are correctly issued, used and accounted for and stock is rotated.
• Completing necessary records for Food Safety.
• Reporting end of night stock levels and orders to management.
• Training new staff
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Food Safety Officer
Experience:
1 year experience in a similar role or industry
Skills:
• Ability to work as part of a team and coordinate tasks with others.
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Good organizational and planning skills
• Ability to work efficiently while under time pressure
• Creativity and imaginative approach to food presentation
Salary - $73150 plus super
