Salary Range: $73,000 - $75,000 + Superannuation

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team at The High Horse Cafe. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, leadership, and a love for crafting exceptional dishes. As our Chef, you will play a key role in menu development, kitchen management, and ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of taste and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Menu Development: Design and update menus, including daily specials, with a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction.
2. Food Preparation: Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
3. Kitchen Management: Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
4. Staff Training: Lead and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
5. Quality Control: Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as necessary to maintain the cafe’s standards.
6. Cost Management: Work within budgetary constraints, controlling food costs and minimizing waste.
7. Customer Focus: Adapt menus and dishes based on customer feedback and dietary requirements.
Requirements:
1. Qualifications: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
2. Experience: A minimum of 2 years of full-time professional experience as a Chef in a fast-paced, high-quality dining environment.
3. Skills: Expertise in various cooking techniques, menu planning, and kitchen management. Strong leadership and communication skills.
4. Work Rights: Must have full working rights in Australia.
5. Attributes: A passion for food, creativity in the kitchen, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
