Our client, Vini Tandoori Indian Restaurant, is currently seeking a skilled Chef to join their team on a full-time basis. This renowned restaurant located in Somerville, Victoria, is celebrated for its authentic Indian cuisine. It offers a diverse menu that brings the vibrant flavours of India to the local community.
From aromatic curries to expertly prepared tandoori dishes, Vini Tandoori Indian Restaurant invites patrons to experience the essence of Indian culinary traditions in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Salary:
• $70,000 to $75,000 per annum plus superannuation.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Inspecting food items to ensure quality.
• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking appliances.
• Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes.
• Seasoning food to enhance flavours during cooking.
• Portioning food, plating, and garnishing with sauces.
• Using temperature-controlled storage for food preservation.
• Adjusting food preparation for special dietary requirements.
• Overseeing menu development and estimating required food quantities.
• Providing training and guidance to kitchen staff and apprentices.
• Monitoring inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
• Performing cleanliness and sanitation checks in the kitchen.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications:
• Must possess Certificates III and IV in Commercial Cookery.
• Should have at least (3) three years of relevant experience in a similar setting.
