Position: Welder
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to ascertain precise job requirements and material needs.
• Select, clean, and prepare metal stocks, ensuring readiness and compliance with specified standards.
• Skillfully cut and shape metal sections and components using both manual tools and machinery, including flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines.
• Utilize advanced techniques for bending and shaping metal sections and pipes, applying both hand tools and machinery for precision work.
• Ensure components are perfectly aligned for welding using appropriate hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Execute various welding techniques to join metal sections securely, focusing on achieving robust, clean, and precise welds.
• Conduct thorough inspections of welds to verify their precision, penetration, and overall quality, ensuring adherence to strict industry standards.
• Finish products by employing various techniques such as cleaning, polishing, filing, and treating with acidic solutions to enhance durability and aesthetics.
• Maintain the integrity and appearance of welds and welded structures by performing detailed cleaning and smoothing operations.
Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, typically involving 38 hours per week.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a welding or metal fabrication role.
• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in a relevant field.
Personal Attributes:
• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt techniques to meet specific product requirements.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity.
• A proactive team player who can also work independently when required.
Remuneration: The successful applicant will be offered a salary range of $70,000-$80,000 plus superannuation per annum.
