Our client, Bayside Meats and Deli on Perry is your award winning, independent local butcher sourcing high quality, all natural grass fed meats from local farmers and is located in the beautiful township of Batemans Bay.
Reporting to the Head Butcher you will showcase your expertise and passion in butchery with our standard stock and value added products.
Working approximately a 45 hour week with some flexibility as to when those hours are performed. General starts are at 6.30am and span from Monday to Saturday inclusive.
About the Job
Cutting meat from bones, trimming fat from meat.
Mincing meat and shaping into different products.
Operating a sausage machine.
Preparing cuts of meat, either for display or on request.
Crumbing, seasoning, marinating, smoking and curing meat.
Producing smallgoods from specially prepared and selected cuts of meat.
Giving advice on preparation and cooking to customers.
Budgeting, stock control and taking orders.
Operating a point-of-sale terminal, scales and EFTPOS machine.
About You
You have a solid understanding of animal anatomy and how to get the most meat from each cut, reducing waste and costs.
You are reliable and dependable, have effective and positive communication skills and enjoy working within a team.
You enjoy providing service to customers.
You work safely and operate equipment and machinery using the right protective gear.
Qualification and Experience
Trade qualified butcher.
2-3 years' experience in retail butchery is highly advantageous.
Drivers' License NSW.
