Job Title: Lead Educator, ELC
Location: White Rock, Cairns
Purpose of the Position: As the ELC Lead Educator, you will oversee program coordination and staff mentoring to foster a nurturing environment for young children during their early developmental years. You will focus on delivering quality care and supporting the holistic development of each child by implementing an educational program using an assessment and planning cycle, and engaging in critical reflection to enhance program and practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective educational programs reflective of the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines.
Collaborate with educators to provide curriculum direction, support, and guidance.
Mentor and build the knowledge, skills, and professionalism of educators.
Foster a play-based learning environment that encourages independent learning and meets developmental needs.
Monitor and evaluate children's learning and development, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Promote inclusive practices and cultural diversity within the educational setting.
Support and guide educators in assessment, planning, and reflection to optimize learning outcomes.
Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children and staff, adhering to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and policies.
Engage with families and the community to enhance the educational experience and promote family involvement.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to collaborate with educators, parents, and community members.
Sound organizational skills and ability to manage conflict effectively.
Knowledge of early learning frameworks, child protection legislation, and WHS requirements.
Proficiency in some of the following: Microsoft Office Suite, Kkidsoft, internet, and TASS.web.
Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and a child-friendly disposition.
Work Environment:
Multi-skilling and undertaking duties outside normal position descriptions as required.
Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all policies and procedures.
Positive interpersonal skills and effective teamwork are essential.
Participation in ongoing professional development and school functions.
