Rossville Retreat Rossville Retreat is looking for a full time Guest Services (housekeeper) employee to join our team at our great location in Cape York. This a long term, permanent position not suitable for people on working holiday visas. Required Skills The ideal candidate will have the following skills: excellent time management and organisation skills. excel in communication with customers and fellow staff members. experience working in an Indigenous environment and knowledge of cultural protocols. driver's license Due to an increase in Japanese tourism in to Cairns, applicants with a second language such as Japanese will be highly regarded. Guest Services and Housekeeping Responsibilities & Requirements Servicing and Cleaning accommodation areas to include: - Cleaning of accommodation lodges. Cleaning of kitchens and communal areas to a high standard. Replacing of linen, towels, and toiletries. Keeping storage areas well stocked, clean and tidy. Picking up rubbish, emptying garbage containers, and taking contents to waste areas for removal. Maintaining the kitchens, washing dishes and cooking utensils, cleaning appliances, cupboards, counters and floors. Transferring guest’s baggage to and from rooms. Driving a passenger vehicle or courtesy bus. Preparing and cooking meals, setting and clearing of tables and serving food and beverages. Ensuring you provide a high level of customer service to all guests of the retreat when required. Punctuality and excellent time management skills. Flexible availability due to the nature of the hospitality and tourism industry. Weekend availability is essential. Being able to work as part of a team, with Indigenous team members, but also individually. Maintain a friendly and caring demeanor at all times.
