Are you interested in Australian made and designed furniture? Are you creative, and take pride in your work? Do you have experience in upholstery and manufacturing furniture? Then you could be the person we are looking for.

We are Artifex Australia, a leading Australian manufacturer of residential and commercial furniture. We are strictly wholesale and have been distributing our designs across Australia for over 40 years. We are one of only a few Australian manufacturers that do everything in house, from cutting foam to making bespoke metal frames, unique timber furniture hardware and quality upholstery finishes.

We currently have a great team of over 20 staff, and are now looking for another team member in production working as an Upholsterer.
Based in Welshpool Western Australia, we are seeking the services of a skilled Upholsterer and furniture maker to join our team. Must take pride in their work with preferred experience in all aspects of upholstery and creating bespoke furniture.

As an Upholsterer with Artifex Australia, you will be responsible for working with the design and manufacturing teams to help create custom pieces of furniture and performing hands-on upholstery work on a wide range of furniture items.

This is a permanent full-time position. We will offer a competitive rate based on your experience and abilities $73,000-$75,000 per year.
• 38hr work week, Mon-Thur 8hrs, Fri 6hrs with potential over time.
• Tools and equipment supplied.
• Parking Onsite.

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for the Upholsterer position, you will need:

• Relevant trade qualifications in Upholstery (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Upholstery work.
• Experience in both fabric and leather would be advantageous.
• Experience working with a range of different materials and textiles.
• Experience working on a wide variety of furniture types and products.
• Experience in hands-on furniture design is highly desirable.
• Experience using all types of upholstery tools and equipment (e.g. hot knives, nail guns, sewing tools).
• Strong commnunication skills.
• High attention to detail.
• A friendly personality and the ability to work well within a team.
• Time management skills and the ability to work within deadlines.
• A knowledge of current furniture trends and market conditions.
• A passion for furniture.
