We are currently looking for a motivated and experienced Animal Attendant to join our vibrant team in Bookara, WA.
Position Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Animal Attendant to become an integral part of our veterinary operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the care and maintenance of animals, including performing husbandry procedures, cleaning, hygiene, and ensuring proper feeding and watering. You will also assist veterinarians with minor procedures and attend to the general welfare of our animals, including livestock. There is potential for the role to expand into assisting with advanced reproductive techniques in cattle for the right applicant.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive care for animals, including working dogs, horses, and cattle.
• Perform routine husbandry tasks such as feeding, watering, grooming, and cleaning.
• Assist veterinarians with minor procedures and the treatment of minor injuries.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of animal facilities.
• Support record-keeping and documentation of animal health.
• Potentially assist with advanced reproductive techniques in cattle.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in an animal care role, with hands-on experience with cattle and other large animals.
• Familiarity with record-keeping and maintaining animal health documents.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and punctuality.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Employment Details:
• Full-time position, 38 hours per week.
• Some weekend and out-of-hours work may be required, with remuneration in accordance with the Fair Work Act.
• Generous remuneration package ranging from $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience.
Location:
The property is situated 320 km north of Perth, between the coastal towns of Dongara and Geraldton. Both towns offer excellent facilities for employment, education, entertainment, and sporting opportunities for families and individuals.
