IT Support Officer Global Mining Conglomerate Permanent Position - Brisbane Your new company
A global mining organisation with operations throughout Australia are seeking an IT Support Officer to work on and support a variety of technologies and projects that underpin the running and operation of the organisation! This is a permanent opportunity.
Your new role
With their global headquarters located overseas, this international conglomerate conducts mining, energy and resource extraction services across multiple continents and countries. Domestically, with their Australian HQ in Queensland, over the past few years they have been building their presence throughout the state by replicating their global successful business model locally. As part of this they have grown to be one of Australia's largest minerals producers with mine sites all over the country.
Troubleshoot and resolve desktop-related problems for both in-person and remote users, covering both the primary and secondary levels of support
Basic Admin task covering Active Directory, Exchange, MECM and file permissions
Configure and distribute IT equipment such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones
Create and deploy software using MECM
Maintain compliance standards for OS (iOS and Windows) and desktop software patching, ensuring updates are implemented in alignment with company schedules
Liaise and escalate faults with higher-level support or external vendors
Contribute to initiatives to improve service of the desktop support team
What you'll need to succeed
Familiar with Microsoft Technologies - Windows 10, Office 365, Folder/File Permissions and Active Directory, along with proficiency in computer hardware and software troubleshooting is essential
MECM, Service-Now, Group Policy management and PowerShell NOTE:
Full Australian working rights are required
