Position: Paediatric Consultant
Location: Northern Region of South Australia
Work Type: Part-Time (1 day a week, including on-call)
Contract: Permanent
Total Indicative Remuneration: $372,783 - $483,861 p.a. (pro-rata) – MD2
About the Role:
- Clinical Duties:
- Deliver high-quality paediatric care including neonatal resuscitation and general paediatric consultations.
- Conduct baby checks, rapid access clinics, and general paediatric clinics.
- Participate in on-call services on a 1:5 rotation, including after-hours coverage.
- Maintain clinical records and coordinate follow-up care for hospital patients.
- Engage in clinical audits, safety activities, and service planning meetings.
- Teaching & Education:
- Support and contribute to continuing education programs in maternity services.
- Administrative Duties:
- Prepare reports and adhere to hospital policies and administrative guidelines.
- Participate in performance appraisals and mandatory training.
- Seek leave approval and engage in necessary administrative tasks.
Key Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent.
- Eligible for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of South Australia.
- Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience in paediatric care, including newborns and general paediatrics.
- Commitment to high standards of medical practice and quality improvement.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
