About the Role
Our client is is seeking a talented musician to compose music for an original musical play. This personal project aims to create a production that can be promoted and performed in schools across Australia and potentially internationally. The role requires collaboration with the project creator, who has already developed the songs, to bring the musical to life through compelling compositions.
Responsibilities:
- Compose original music for pre-written songs, ensuring they are suitable for a school musical context
- Collaborate closely with the project creator to understand the vision and style of the musical
- Create sheet music and musical arrangements for each song
- Assist in the musical direction during initial rehearsals
- Proven experience in music composition, preferably for theatrical productions
- Strong background in songwriting and arranging
- Proficiency in music notation software and digital audio workstations
- Ability to compose in various musical styles suitable for a school audience
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
