Senior Vice President, Commercial

Key duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Gross Margin Delivery - Responsibility for delivering sales across all commercial activities including Retail, Generation, Optimisation across the Australian electricity markets

Global Leadership & Growth – As part of the global leadership group, develop and execute strategies across multiple regions to sustainable global expansion and profitability.

Business planning – Development, maintain and delivery of a business plan that achieves the financial and non-financial company targets in respect of all commercial activities

Operations - Overall responsibility for the end-to-end customer journey from sales operations, registrations and onboarding through to billing, settlement, debt and end of contract activity. This shall include ensuring that relevant functions have the necessary tools to operate to a high standard.

Marketing – Ownership of the marketing strategy including new product development, its roadmap and new energy solutions.

Strategy – Support the CEO and collaborate with other senior leaders in the strategic direction of the company

Global Central Functions – Provide local management and direction to the Marketing function.

Regulatory Compliance - Ensure that all forward commercial facing activities are carried out in accordance with the requirements of Australia’s retail and financial services licenses (AFSL) and that a healthy culture of compliance is imbedded across the commercial groups.

Commercial Risks – Management and sound commercial judgement of all commercial related risks.

Corporate Compliance - Ensuring that the commercial position is operated and managed in accordance with the company’s approved risk policy.

External Relationships Have overall responsibility for the management of relationships with third party intermediaries, customers, prospects and other such organizations that are critical to the delivery of the company’s ambitions.


Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

Relevant qualification required, 15 + years of relevant experience in energy retail, generation, or related sectors (such as intermediaries);

Detailed understanding of the commercial arrangements for retail, generation, and renewable contracts.

Hands on experience of managing a large and diverse team covering numerous disciplines in the pursuit of a common goal.

Experience of developing commercial arrangements and solutions, adapting to customer needs and market reality.

Educated to bachelor degree level

Knowledge of wholesale power and environmental markets.

Strong knowledge of the marketing mix, product development and sales processes

Understanding of customer needs and how products and services are designed to meet them.

Understanding of retail, generation, and renewable contract arrangements.

Should be a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors
