About the Role
Are you passionate about making a contribution to combating climate change and looking to make the move to a globally renowned consultancy? We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Climate and Environmental Assessor to join our dedicated Compliance Strategy and Transactions team. You will contribute to the delivery of high quality sustainability, zero-carbon, climate and environmental advisory services.. To succeed in this role you must be confident facing clients, be an innovative problem solver and have extensive knowledge of legislation and regulations related to sustainability reporting and advisory services in Australia, APAC, and globally. You must also have an academic understanding of global security issues that impact environmental governance and climate change.
As a Climate and Environmental Assessor you will work on billable projects within Ramboll and may also support business-critical proposals and/or marketing efforts. You will work closely with colleagues from within your own team as well as across other Ramboll business units, creating a multi-disciplinary approach to project work.
You will apply your well-developed consultancy and problem-solving skills to identify issues, develop client-favoured strategies, and assist with the implementation of change. You will manage larger aspects of the problem-solving process and be responsible for presenting findings and formulating recommendations. You will also be assisting more senior employees in structuring the work and managing colleagues working on projects. You will have gained industry-specific knowledge throughout your career.

Core Responsibilities
Key tasks and responsibilities will include:
Technical Delivery
• Production of technical assessment and analysis to advise clients on sustainability reporting to standards such as CSRD, ASRS, SASB, GRI, IFRS, and TCFD.
• Production of GHG inventories that include scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions in line with the GHG Protocol.
• Production of decarbonization roadmaps and technical guidance that meets the requirements set by the Science-based Target Initiative (SBTi) and the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS).
• Production of and contribution to appropriate areas of environmental impact assessments (EIAs).
• Production of research and detailed assessments of global political security issues that impact climate and environmental governance.
• Providing written comments and reports and presentations with excellent visual and grammatical quality.
• Working as part of multidisciplinary teams (including, but not limited to attending meetings with architects, planners, government agencies, and clients).

Technical Leadership
• Implement skills and knowledge to support and lead other colleagues.
• Conduct independent technical analyses and assist in directing technical analysis of others.
• Develop innovative approaches to solving complex problems in project work.
• Be a thought leader and maintain dialogues with colleagues regarding important global/regional political and security issues.

Business Development
• Participate actively in client meetings and discussions and support in developing new clients by writing presentations, bids and proposals.
• Support the expansion and diversification of services offered by the team.

Project/People Management
• Manage small projects or substantial portions of larger projects and delegate and supervise accordingly.
• assist in training for other colleagues.
• assist in the development and management of project budgets.

About You
As our new Climate and Environmental Assessor you will be part of a highly dynamic team. Our team has a deep focus on technical delivery and an excellent understanding of sustainability and GHG reporting. Additionally, it is essential that you have an academic understanding of global/regional political and security issues that can impact environmental governance and climate change.

You will be an important part of a close-knit team working on a wide variety of projects throughout the APAC region. You will be part of the Ramboll Australia Compliance, Strategy and Transactions Service Line that sits within our Environment and Health market.
Essential experience:
• A Bachelors degree in International Relations, Global Politics, or Security Studies. A Masters degree in these fields would be advantageous.
• Minimum 4 years experience in the sustainability, carbon accounting, climate and EIA sectors. Experience in consulting and supply chain would be advantageous.
• Knowledge in the following areas:
o energy auditing and management (such as ISO50001);
o sustainability reporting and standards (including knowledge of IFRS, TCFD, CDP, GRI, and SASB)
o a variety of carbon accounting methodologies (such as GHG protocol, ISO 14064-1)
o GHG reporting and net-zero strategies/targets (including knowledge of SBTi, Net Zero Initiative and GHG Protocol);
o Environmental impact assessment
o Climate risk strategies/assessments
o Political and security issues with implications on climate and environmental governance (such as global modern slavery, ecological threats to businesses, state and non-state actors, and environmental impacts on supply chains).
• Experience with financial or project management.
• Experience producing high-quality graphical and written outputs.
• Strong facilitation and team work skills.
• Certified to at least Practitioner level in an environmental professional body, such as IEMA.
Desirable experience
• Experience with international finance projects
• Knowledge and experience in contributing to and working across various chapters included in environmental impact assessments.
