We have an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Registered Nurse to join the Acute Care Mental Health team in South Australia. The team in Adelaide are seeking MH Registered Nurses to join them in providing acute care and crisis services to mental health clients. Position overview: - Role: Registered Mental Health Nurse - Location: Adelaide, South Australia - Type: Full time positions available working over a 7 day roster with a supportive team - Salary: Competitive salary package based on experience - Relocation: Relocation Assistance packages available if relocating About the role: The role involves a range of specialist mental health interventions within a multidisciplinary team including triage, comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, clinical formulation, management of risks and safety planning, brief psycho-education and close liaison with all relevant stakeholders as part of collaborative care and discharge planning. The role can be a challenging one and ideal for someone who is looking at developing their skills and experience in the mental health sector, whilst making a positive difference in peoples' lives. About you: - A team player with the ability to be flexible across your work - Enjoys a challenge and working in an environment that is forever changing - Ability to stay calm during a crisis - Naturally curious and able to ask questions to learn more - Confidence to make on the spot decisions - Natural ability to engage with hard to engage with people Requirements: - Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and a postgraduate in Mental Health (or willing to enroll) - Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA - Demonstrated core competency skills in Mental Health interventions in the Community and experience in providing comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessment, safety planning and the provision of collaborative care and discharge planning. - Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery - Demonstrated experience working with people with an acute mental illness or disorder including experience in detainment, medication and monitoring - Demonstrated experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgment on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience - Demonstrated experience with escalations to in-patient admissions and arranging hospital transportation - Demonstrated computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems - Understanding and knowledge of mental health principles of consumer focused and strengths-based practices in acute community mental health setting - Great communication skills with voicing plans, intentions and expected outcomes to family, friends, service providers and other authorities Compliance Requirements: - National Police Certificate, Working with Children Check and NDIS workers screening check (or ability to obtain) - Relevant vaccination and immunisation compliance - Full Driver's License How to apply: If you are interested in applying or would like more information about our mental health nursing roles, please contact [email protected] or submit your application along with your resume and cover letter.
