Placed.au is looking for a full-time Project Coordinator (Civil Engineer) for our client in Cobblebank, Victoria. As a project coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to provide technical assistance in relation to installation projects. This will include detailing, production planning, scheduling, and safety, as well as commercial and financial aspects. Job description:
• Improve systems and process to create safer workplace and work practices.
• Inspect ongoing work in progress to ensure conformity to specifications and the adherence to specifications, quality standards, and schedules, while conducting quality control audits and reviews.
• Collaborate with Production/Quality staff to improve detailing techniques and minimise the requirement to correct defects and NCR’s.
• Understands Quality Control and Audit Requirements.
• Ensure all systems, processes, and procedures follow best practice, review and investigate improvements/efficiencies.
• Prepare, review, administer, and monitor subcontracts/contracts for the lifecycle of the project, assist with execution and closeout, and oversee cost control to maintain budget compliance.
• Evaluate approved tenders and manage project development including document control and design/drafting deliverables.
• Liaise with the Drafting department to ensure technical queries are administered in a timely fashion and designs meet project requirements. Ensure the drafting department is working to the project schedule and within budgets.
• Generate and manage the RFI process and review shop drawings to ensure compliance, review shop drawings, prepare detailed reports on project progress, and ensure all documentation complies with industry standards and project specifications.
• Understand and be familiar with the Code of Practice, Australian Standards, and specifications.
• Liaise with client, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding material approvals, technical queries, inspections, project scheduling and coordinating deliveries.
• Manage projects to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
• Coordinate in conjunction with the site manager any installation requirements such as procurement, cost management and tracking, subcontract development, execution and management, production liaison, logistical coordination, subcontractor, and site supervision.
• Prepare or review reports on project progress, materials used and costs, and adjust work schedules as required.
• Provide clear and concise daily, weekly, and monthly reports as necessary.
Qualifications/Attributes:
• Must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related.
• Must possess at least a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
• Must have great written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be excellent at time management to meet project deadlines.
• Must be proficient in the latest versions of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software packages.
• Must possess an understanding of business-critical scenarios in terms of site management and safety.
Salary Range: $95,000 – $100,000 p.a. excluding superannuation.
