Flo's Creperie Noosa, located at Noosa Junction, is on the hunt for a full-time, professional and experienced Sous Chef with positive vibes and a strong work ethic to join our awesome kitchen team.

About Flo’s Creperie Noosa
Flo’s Creperie Noosa is a fully licensed full table service French restaurant, serving savoury and sweet crêpes and bistro-style French dishes. We’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week. Established in September 2021, we’ve built a strong reputation in Noosa with locals and tourists alike who value our unique products and excellent service.

About the position

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our team at our charming French restaurant. As a Sous Chef in our establishment, you will play a pivotal role in creating an authentic and delightful dining experience for our guests. Your culinary expertise, creativity and dedication to quality will shine through in every crepe you prepare.

Skills and experience required

A relevant diploma and two years of full-time experience as a chef or three years of full-time experience as a chef is required for consideration for this role.

Salary

$70,000-$75,000 + super

Responsibilities

French Dish Preparation: Expertly prepare and cook a variety of sweet and savoury crepes, and bistro-style French dishes, adhering to traditional French techniques while adding your own creative twists. Prepare and present dishes according to the menu while ensuring presentation and portion control are to the specifications of the Head Chef.
Menu Development: Collaborate with the management team to develop new crepe recipes and seasonal specials that keep our menu fresh and exciting.
Ingredient Management: Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients by managing inventory and stock rotation.
Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following food safety standards and health regulations.
Customer Engagement: Interact with customers, providing recommendations and answering questions about our crepes, and accommodating dietary preferences when necessary.
Teamwork: Work harmoniously with the kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Quality Control: Conduct regular taste tests to ensure that crepes meet our high standards of taste and presentation.
Adaptability: Be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment, adjusting to changing priorities and customer demands.
Training and Development: Be involved in the training, mentoring, and development of junior kitchen staff.
Produce Receival: Check produce on delivery and ensure invoices are correct.
Stock Management: Order and monitor stock levels.
Food Safety: Maintain food safety practices to the specifications of the Head Chef.
Bookings Management: Organise bookings and booking requests received by email.
Food Storage Management: Manage and monitor the fridges and food storage to ensure quality and temperature requirements are met.
The ideal candidate should:

Possess prior experience in a similar culinary role.
Exhibit meticulous care and attention to detail in food preparation.
Demonstrate self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
Be consistently reliable and punctual.
Possess effective communication and organizational skills.
Have the ability to follow recipes accurately.
Maintain a high standard of Occupational Health and Safety practices.
Exhibit a keen eye for detail and a passionate commitment to crafting high-quality culinary creations.
