Position: Farm Hand
Location: Humpty Doo, NT
Start: September/ October 2024 for up to 4 years
Contract: Full time
We require 10 Farm Hands for work on a fish farm. The role will entail a variety of hands-on labouring work in the field as well as work in the packing shed.
Field duties include harvesting fish by pulling in nets, mending nets, feeding, cleaning tanks and tubs and moving fish. Packing shed duties include processing and packing fish, loading/unloading and cleaning.
The work you will be doing is hard and physically demanding. You must be physically capable of working on your feet for long periods at a time and be able to cope with repetitive manual labouring work.
This is a full-time position and will be for a period of up to 4 years. Workers are required to work 4 days a week, typically 10hrs per day, starting at 6am (40hrs/ week). Shifts are allocated on a 7 day roster, so you must be willing to work weekends.
Hourly pay rate (Level 2) for a full-time employee of $31.91/hour is in line with the Aquaculture Award [MA000114]. Penalty rates will apply.
Onsite training will be provided to successful applicants and there is a potential to up skill based on performance.
