About the opportunity:
We are looking for an Irrigation Manager to oversee the delivery of irrigation across the Fitzroy Macadamia developments in Gogango, Queensland (65km SW of Rockhampton). This role coordinates and oversees the delivery of irrigation requirements across the macadamia developments in the Fitzroy River region. You will provide irrigation expertise supporting the irrigation system design and installation.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Area Manager - Fitzroy Macadamia Operations, you will be responsible for:
- Providing irrigation expertise with the irrigation systems design and installation.
- Monitor water account balances and requirements from various users.
- Program, manage and control automation systems.
- Provide guidance to orchard managers on irrigation requirements.
- Be a role model by demonstrating precise and safe work behaviours and reinforcing policies and procedures.
- Coordinate delivery of water via suppliers and infrastructure to users as required.
- Maintain effective working relationships.
- Identify the training needs of workers.
- You will hold a C class drivers’ license (essential).
- Experience in operation and management of pressurised irrigation systems.
- Experience with irrigation automation.
- Experience with tree crops.
- Project management experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisation and time management skills.
- Competitive annual salary up to $110,000 p.a., dependent on experience and qualifications.
- Eligibility to participate in the company’s group salary continuance, group life insurance plan and annual bonus scheme.
