Hays Trades and Labour is partnering with an established market leader who operates a fleet of truck mounted equipment and cranes across Melbourne. Your new role
Within this position you will be required to work both as a part of the team, providing technical assistance, while also leading the team from a managerial position. As well as the following:
Monitor and undertake repairs and servicing to all allocated tasks.
Coordinate and direct workshop technicians for maximum efficiency and productivity while overseeing all service & repair work to ensure the highest quality of customer service is always maintained.
Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the Workshop Manager & Service Advisor. Report on workforce overruns or shortfalls.
Conduct on the job tutorials and assist with solving complex mechanical and hydraulic problems to provide mechanical training and instruction to workshop personnel, including apprentices.
Assist with quoting, developing detailed repair descriptions and quality checks.
Maintain a clean, well presented, and safe workspace, and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed
Experience in a similar managerial position, leading trade resources in a mechanical workshop or service department
Working on or with vehicles or plant & equipment in a high risk / compliance driven sector
Certificate 3 in mobile plant technology or Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
Current drivers' licence and reliable transport
A safety and compliance driven approach to your day to day-to-day.
