Piber Plastics Australia Pty Ltd, a leading manufacturer based in Derrimut, VIC, is currently seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze blueprints and technical specifications to understand the requirements and dimensions for manufacturing and model construction.
• Utilize various gauges to measure and outline metal stock and castings precisely.
• Design and fabricate dies specifically for plastic production, ensuring they meet our strict specifications.
• Conduct routine inspections and perform maintenance on dies to uphold quality standards in plastic manufacturing.
• Employ machine tools to shape metal and plastic stock accurately.
• Verify the precision of manufactured items and completed patterns, using advanced measuring tools to ensure they adhere to tight tolerances.
• Evaluate and refine manufactured items through testing and modifications to meet functional needs.
• Apply protective coatings and paint to pattern parts, indicating assembly methods.
• Assemble sections of patterns, adjust work pieces to the desired finish, and manage the casting process effectively.
• Lay and integrate materials into moulds, build up laminations with fibreglass cloth and plastic resin for pattern fabrication.
• Repair, modify, and correct patterns to address casting defects and enhance mould accuracy.
• Create templates for product layout and quality inspection, ensuring all components meet design specifications.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Toolmaker.
• AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in a relevant technical field.
Location: Derrimut, VIC
Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation per annum
