Coburg Plasterers is a registered plastering and carpentry company in Melbourne with a qualified and highly-skilled team of tradesmen that are equipped to handle a wide range of projects to a top quality finish.
They are now looking for a Carpenter to join their team.
The Role
The position is for a Carpenter on a full time salary with an annual salary set at $83,200 plus superannuation.
Responsibilities
To ensure that all set-outs/lay-outs are prepared correctly so that all carpentry and formwork is erected correctly and in such a way that it complies to all specifications set out in the construction plans for any given project.
Determine what materials are required in order to successfully complete the portion of a project that falls under carpentry
Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required.
Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements
Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
Lay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are levelled and compatible
Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
Build scaffolding and other construction structures
Requirements
At least 2 years’ experience in commercial carpentry work
Must have 2 years’ in construction carpentry
Relevant Certification 3 qualifications in carpentry
Must know how to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Current drivers’ licence
Physical dexterity and ability to stand for long periods
In-depth knowledge and understanding of all technical drawings and specifications
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Must have Australian residency or full work rights
