YOUR MISSION:
The Financial Accountant will be instrumental in assisting with our accounting services for our Australian and overseas clients who has needs in financial reporting, compliance, data integrity, as well as process improvements and implementation these functions for their organisations. The Financial Accountant will handle a high volume of clients across Australia, NZ, PNG and Fiji and/or other countries.
KEY AREAS INCLUDE:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing Accounting services for clients.
Implementing & administering accounting information systems of MYOB and resolving any compliance issues in the record-keeping of accounting data.
Interfacing with Excel models and MYOB to perform daily and month-end accounting to ensure accounting accuracy.
Communication with clients’ internal accountants for reconciliation and bookkeeping procedures.
Liaising with the clients to provide sufficient evidence for financial transactions to assist them with audit procedures as and when required.
Updating and maintaining the accounting system.
Overseeing of Accounts Receivable and Account Payable functions.
Processing monthly BAS/ PAYG lodgements, monthly/ quarterly employee superannuation contributions, and providing FBT return to ATO at the end of FY.
Lodging monthly PTX returns to ATO.
Preparing regular financial reports for client’s management and other planning or ad hoc purposes.
Reviewing the cash flow forecast, budgeting and operating costs.
Delivering supporting and advisory documents to clients.
Reporting and answering employees and clients’ enquiries.
Reviewing General Ledger (GL) accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies by posting timely journals to ensure accounting accuracy.
Review and develop internal Accounting & Payroll team processes and procedures.
Complete maintenance of employment records for Polyglot and its clients.
Management of actual payments to employees and 3rd parties, as required.
Calculation of taxes (Payroll Tax in Australia).
Lodgements to all 3rd parties as required (Australia - ATO, Super funds, Payroll Tax offices in all Australian States, Workers Comp. insurance companies. NZ – IRD, ACC).
Keep actively informed about changes in Payroll and accounting policies (taxes, regulations, etc).
Participate in all other Payroll and Accounting-related projects, as required.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
At least degree level in accounting or equivalent, master qualification preferred.
At least two years of qualified experience showing the following skills:
Extensive knowledge in the accounting field (e. g. accounting principles, reporting, cost accounting, accounts payables and receivables, bank reconciliation).
Client relationship and stakeholder management.
Familiarity with MYOB EXO, DataPay, Attaché.
Process: Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinising, improving, simplifying, and streamlining complex work processes (including IT and Business infrastructure).
Audit: Technical expertise, recommendation submitting.
Organisation/tools support: Design and implementation of tools, data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
Listen, write, speak: Proficiency in the English language; knowledge of a second language is not a requirement, but beneficial.
Strong business acumen.
