Position Summary:
In this role you are at the intersection of strategic communications, insight driven positioning, combined with the next generation of media planning and it is your responsibility to ensure our communication stays true to Hotel Chateau Royal Beach Resort & Spa’s objectives.
Working hand in hand with the Marketing department, this role will be responsible for increasing the hotel’s visibility across Australia and supporting the creation and delivery of content on our social media channels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic alignments and partnerships:
- Secure connection opportunities, partnerships and alignment possibilities with Australian brands, businesses, and local travel agents.
- Invite key opinion leaders to the resort to create traction and instant buzz.
- Leverage on key opinion leaders who are the leading talent of their industry and who have a cool factor.
2. Brand development:
- Monitor the local market and provide feedback and suggestions to help develop the brand in the region and ensure the hotel is meeting the wants & needs of its current and future clientele.
3. Public Relations services:
- Look for press opportunities within relevant Australian media publications.
- Seek opportunities in glossy monthly publications, newspapers including a range of weekly/monthly supplements, online outlets etc.
- Coordinate promotions, giveaways and activations opportunities with local brands and businesses.
4. Social Media Management & content creation:
- Management of the hotel’s social media channels. Missions include content creation, scheduling, strategy formulation, assistance with ad spend, all in efforts to engage new potential customers.
- Establish a presence with the hotel’s target demographic, educate current/future followers about the resort, and ultimately encourage more guests to stay at the Chateau Royal Beach & Resort Spa.
- Cultivate relationships with leading industry experts across a diverse range of ?elds, with an ever-growing database of leading photographers and videographers.
- Execute photoshoots designed to captivate and engage the desired audience.
- Commission several different styles of videos that will engage current clientele while targeting new potential clients.
5. Reporting:
- At the end of each month, submit a report outlining everything that has been worked on and achieved locally in that monthly period.
- Provide information regarding key learnings and improvement opportunities for the following month.
Job requirements:
Must be fluent in French and English.
Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and/or Media Studies.
At least 2 years of equivalent experience in a relevant industry
Hootsuite Certification is a strong bonus.
In-depth knowledge of New Caledonia’s laws and customs (advertising laws, image rights, social and political context…).
Good understanding of the media landscape in Australia and New Caledonia.
Excellent media relationships, with contacts in Sydney, Brisbane/Gold Coast, Melbourne and Noumea.
Must be willing/able to travel interstate and internationally from time-to-time.
Capacity to handle crisis communication effectively.
Proven experience with travel/tourism clients and brands.
