Minara Resources has an opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to join our established and dedicated Production Compliance team based on site at Murrin Murrin Operations.

Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. We are a diverse, dedicated and driven workforce, building a sustainable business today with a focus on tomorrow.

Minara Resources is wholly owned by Glencore, one of the world’s largest globally diversified natural resources companies and a major producer and marketer of more than 60 commodities. Glencore employs over 145,000 people operates around 150 operating mining and processing sites, oil production assets and agricultural facilities in over 35 countries.

The Role
The successful person will become a member of a proactive, hardworking, and committed team who are responsible for Nickel and Cobalt production.  

You will be responsible for:

Leading safety, inclusion, high performance and continuous improvement by example;
Ensuring the plant is operated in a safety and environmentally responsible manner and production and business targets are achieved;
Achieving operating budgets by assisting in maintaining the lowest cost of production;
Developing and improving operating and business development philosophies to ensure they are attuned with the operating demands;
Monitoring and improving systems and business processes to simplify work and harnessing opportunities for improvement to increase production;
Developing and leading an inclusive workplace where everyone’s differences are celebrated and their contributions matter; and
Developing continuous improvement targets for the function and drive, and measure achievement of these targets.

About You
This role would suit a technically competent and driven people leader looking for a new challenge in our multifaceted processing plant.

You will also have:

A tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Metallurgy (preferred);
Experience with Nickel Laterite HPAL process (highly desirable);
Previous experience in a senior leadership role within the mineral resource industry;
A strong desire to be part of a high performing team;
Proven change management expertise in large organisations;
Demonstrated aptitude for implementing continuous improvement strategies;
A strong drive in the area of continuous improvement with demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills;
A high level understanding of and WHS Legislation and Regulations, Permit to Work, High Risk Work, Risk Assessment tools and maintenance management systems;
Demonstrated ability to investigate workplace accidents and incidents utilising the ICAM investigation process; and
A current & valid manual driver’s licence.
