An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team in Clayton, Melbourne. In this role, you'll be pivotal in supporting the operation of our state-of-the-art Drug Product (Fill Finish) GxP manufacturing systems. With systems ranging from Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, Wonderware System Platform, AVEVA Historian, Apprentice MES, to OSIsoft Pi, you will use your automation expertise to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes, directly contributing to the production of therapies that could transform the lives of patients worldwide.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Leading roles during construction, CSV/CQV, and delivery of the manufacturing facility.

• Troubleshooting complex issues within our GxP manufacturing systems for smooth and efficient operation.

• Coordinating maintenance activities across systems and teams to ensure continuity and quality.

• Maintaining and sustaining compliance culture in solution design and operations.

Your responsibilities will also include:

• Engaging and educating business owners on the capability and functionality of solutions.

• Coordinating validation activities in collaboration with Manufacturing, Engineering, Validation, and QA.

• Developing and maintaining GMP system documentation and managing compliance activities.

• Leading investigations, CAPAs, deviations, and change controls, supporting audits, and performing administrative duties as required.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technology discipline.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role within the biotech or related industry.

• Strong knowledge of computer systems validation and GMP regulations.

• 2+ years of experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and Wonderware System Platform

• Experience working in an operational GxP facility, demonstrating a strong understanding of the regulations and standards in this environment.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience in Drug Product manufacturing operations such as Formulation, Aseptic Filling, Packaging and Serialization

• Experience in dealing with multiple projects and working in a multi-disciplinary team, managing multiple tasks/assignments with staggered due dates and deadlines.

• Demonstrated ability to make crisp decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and build collaborative relationships with colleagues and business partners.

• Clear communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an understandable manner to various stakeholders.

• Experience supporting various digital manufacturing systems including Syncade and OSI Pi.

• Experience working in an operational GxP facility, demonstrating a strong understanding of the regulations and standards in this environment.

• Proficiency in IT networking, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize.

• Understanding of biopharmaceutical processes and equipment.

• Ability to quickly adapt and learn new skills and technologies.

The Support ML team aims to create better-than-human Customer Support experiences. Cash App holds people’s money, and building customers’ trust is absolutely essential to our brand. Providing fast and reliable help whenever the customer needs it is a major component of building that trust. 

As a member of the team, you will design, build and launch customer support features. We build our services over Cash App's ever-evolving infrastructure, and as a senior engineer on the team, you will embrace these changes and scale our tech stack to promote future evolvability. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct, tangible impact on our product and work on projects that are critical to the business’s success. You'll be reporting to an Engineering Manager and working on a distributed team with members in the USA, Taiwan, Melbourne and Perth.

You Will:

• Be responsible for designing, building and managing the distributed services that enable us to automatically solve customer problems in real-time.

• Creatively solve challenging technical problems at scale, collaborating with engineers located here in Melbourne, Perth, Taiwan and the US.

• Demonstrate high code quality, good test coverage and other engineering best practices 

• Work hand-in-hand with ML Modelers to identify and integrate new data sources, heuristics and models, allowing us to scale our customer support operations.

• Collaborate with product, analysts, and modelers on planning and implementing great customer support experiences 

• Have autonomy to research and achieve outcomes with support when you need it

• Contribute to the growth of our development capabilities through mentoring and supporting fellow engineers
