What you get to do in this role

In this role, the support engineer will resolve technical cases created by customers looking for help to understand or troubleshoot unexpected behaviors or to answer technical questions about the ServiceNow software and platform.

A successful candidate will be committed to providing amazing customer support experiences, using skills that include building trust, showing empathy and excellent communication to answer customer questions and resolve issues through various technologies including web, chat, email, case updates, as well as direct telephone support.

Understanding the ServiceNow platform and all core functionalities will be essential while employing various diagnostic tools to isolate the potential cause of the issue. The engineer is expected to diligently manage and resolve challenging issues assigned to them but may need to coordinate assistance from additional teams for more complex cases. As such, creative problem solving, a collaborative nature and flexibility will be key to your success.

Lastly, support engineers also play a key role in providing input across business units regarding process and product improvements due to their unique perspective when working on technical issues for customers.

What you get to do in this role

• Design and deploy networks based on business and technical requirements.
• Partner with project and program managers to meet overall timelines and resolution of issues.
• Operate and troubleshoot networks to identify and resolve issues quickly.
• Take a lead role in the engagement and mitigation of outage causing events or issues.
• Validate problem descriptions and perform detailed problem diagnosis; track and update problems in trouble-ticketing system.
• Perform non-critical investigations into functionality that is not working as desired.
• Engage deeply in the sustainment function to proactively analyze network parameters such as capacity and availability to ensure issues are fixed before they cause an outage.
• Review, consult and prepare for planned change introduction to production environment.
• Participate in rotating “on call” schedule with other members of the team including weekends.
• Partner with teams to plan and execute software code upgrades and device maintenance.
• Partner with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team to provide mentorship and input on operational process improvements.
• Provide feedback to infrastructure architects on design issues or improvements and input into the design process for new initiatives.

Sample first 6-month deliverables

• Quickly integrate into the environment and gain a solid understanding of network architecture, organization, and process/procedures.
• Deploy capacity into a datacenter based on demand.
• Participate in incident bridges and serve as the networking engineering resource to troubleshoot and mitigate outages.
• Take ownership of a minimum of two datacenters perform all sustainment engineering functions.
• Partner with the SRE team to identify and solve one network process issue.

Where appropriate, training will be provided as part of your job

As a Senior Signalling Engineer at Omada, your impact will be in the independent design review function including the verification process and the final sign-off of designs. You will utilise your specialist knowledge in rail signalling to deliver technical guidance to signalling teams to contribute to the successful management and delivery of projects for clients. You may also be responsible for leading a team of designers for medium sized to major projects.

In this role, you will:

• Design, check, and conclude independent verification of high-level signalling documentation inclusive of feasibility studies; technical requirements; SOWs; bonding/cable plans; control tables; power calculations etc
• Design, check, and conclude independent verification of infrastructure assets inclusive of trackside signalling infrastructure; train detection systems; SCADA systems; vital/non-vital interlocking systems etc
• Provide technical advice to clients and project stakeholders and teams on interfacing operational systems
• Produce tender documentation
• Lead a team of designers for medium sized to major projects
• Test, commission and maintain signalling systems and associated supporting systems
• Mentor and guide junior signalling engineers and project engineers

About this opportunity

As Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for improving the reliability and performance of the NSW manufacturing operations, systems, equipment, and processes, (initial focus on the Horsley Park site), with the objective of improving the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of the operations. The role involves analysing operational performance, identifying potential improvements in throughput, machine availability, machine efficiency, yield, as well as identifying potential failure modes, and implementing solutions to prevent these failures.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

Design and implement planned, preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance program

Optimize maintenance schedules based on reliability data.

Utilize LEAN, TPM and or RCM methodologies as well as condition monitoring tools and techniques to improve machine reliability and OEE

Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in equipment reliability and performance

Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement reliability improvement projects.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

Support and promote a learning organisation to solve problems and improve the operations 

Collect and analyze data on equipment performance and failures.

Use statistical analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement

Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.

Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Develop and maintain a database of failure modes and corrective actions

Assist in the development and training of maintenance personnel.

Recommend design changes or modifications to improve reliability and maintainability.

Leadership – provide structure and direction on KPI’s relevant to a proactive maintenance function through Continuous Improvement. CMMS and Lean principles

Assess risks associated with equipment and process failures.

Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Ensure all reliability and maintenance activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance and reliability activities

Develop and update reliability and maintenance procedures.

Management of site legislative compliance, e.g. fire systems, EPA, DG

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

• An Engineering and Maintenance Leadership background in a high-speed contract manufacturing environment
• Proven design and implementation of Continuous Improvement projects with a high-speed manufacturing environment with Lean or TPM manufacturing principles
• Proven Leadership experience of both staff, contractors, and suppliers
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and reliability modelling.
• Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM),  preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., reliability analysis software, CMMS).
