The role: Working on our busy reception desk, you will be responsible for ensuring we do not merely deliver service but do more than is expected to create meaningful and authentic moments of hospitality. Checking guests in and out daily, making reservations over the phone, running daily reports to identify any special requests, anticipating guests service needs, and complying with policies and procedures. You will listen to, and resolve guest's complaints or concerns, but there will always be a manager there to support you when required.

The hours: Full time role available working up to 38 hours a week, across a 7-day rotating roster.

The shifts: 7am - 3pm and 3pm - 11pm, on a rotating roster.

Rates: Mon-Fri $24.87, Sat $31.09, Sun $37.31

About the Role

As Systems Engineer - Linux, your role is to manage and maintain the Linux/Unix server environment and to provide proactive and reactive support services. The Cybersecurity Engineer, will be a member of our Group Technology Cybersecurity team located in any Datacom office.

About the Role (Your Why)  

Datacom operations are seeking an Operations Centre Engineer whose role is to monitor systems including Windows, UNIX, Database, Cloud and backups in real-time on a 24x7x365 rotational basis and able to troubleshoot/triage/resolve events or escalating to specialist’s teams for resolution. You will receive a standby allowance for when offshift and when called in to cover, all hours are considered overtime. There is a shift allowance of 12.5% on all working hours too so that standard pay is as uniform as possible, regardless of if you are day or night shift.

It is essentially just above an entry-level role, so don't let the title scare you off! We do still need people with IT experience - the role is perfect for those who have done service desk or desktop engineering work - but note that this is still an associate level position. It is seen as a transitionary role and a great stepping stone to get into higher level IT roles, as has happened with many of our staff since the teams' inception 4 years ago. After working in this role, you should be able to handle the business critical tasks and changes while you have time to focus on any certifications you are interested in. You can really showcase your skills ihere and be involved with the technologies that you want to be involved with, initially at a lower level but you can steadily increase your utilisation of other, higher technologies as you grow and develop.

The Purpose

The primary purpose of the position is to be part of a dynamic team that is responsible to implement, automate, support and maintain all environments that are expected to operate on a 24x7 basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure SLA, SLE and SLO are met in a 24x7 environment. Required participation to an on-call roster
• Manage, maintain Red Hat Linux and Red Hat Ansible and Satellite Servers
• Operating System hardening based on recommendation by the Centre for Internet Security (CIS)
• Develop scripts, Ansible playbook ( Bash or Python ) and API calls for automating system administration and other repeatable tasks
• Manage and maintain network services such as Mail, DNS, NTP, Firewalld and F5 Load Balancer
• Generate system health related reports, manage and maintain monitoring, alerting and reporting systems such as Splunk, Dynatrace and Wazuh
• Deploy, configure, troubleshoot and staying up to date with licensing, subscriptions, versions and features and making sure all are compliant
• Implement security best practice, perform regular audits, patches and updates
• Monitor performance and identify bottleneck and optimise system resources such as disk utilisations
• Diagnose and resolve issues not limited to hardware, network to application level

The team designs, builds and supports solutions end to end allowing our customers to switch to modern managed solutions and support them along the way in conjunction with other Datacom groups.. You will problem-solve technical issues for customers to show how these products can make businesses more productive, collaborative, and innovative.

As a Mobility Engineer you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Customers EMM systems with minimal direction; and you will have a focus on ensuring an exceptional customer experience to Datacom’s EMM customer base.

This role is available across all Australian offices (Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth and Canberra) and will require Australian Citizenship to obtain a Baseline or NV1 Clearance.

What you’ll do

As Mobility Engineer, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

What you’ll bring

You will have 5 years’ IT industry experience, preferably within an IT managed service provider, with approx. 2 years’ experience in a similar Mobility role. You will possess excellent knowledge of iOS, Android, MacOS and Windows 10 operating systems. Along with good working knowledge of networking and TCP/IP, AD, DHP, DNS and Enterprise applications. MobileIron, Google admin, VMware WS1 (SEG, UAG, ENS) and/ or Microsoft Intune administration skills would be a huge advantage. You will bring exceptional troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and prioritisation skills; and will be comfortable and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
