Role Purpose:

The Platform Operations teams are responsible for the support, reliability, and stability of Epsilon Retail Media production systems, environments, and offerings. The team owns the reliability vision for the company, driving continuous improvement through a combination of development and operations initiatives as well as process excellence. The team has full solid-line responsibility for operations including the deployment, management, monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, and repair of production systems. Core to the success of the role is to provide a premium customer support experience focused on a “centre of excellence” that allows for a full-service delivery support cycle.

The Platform Operations teams are responsible for supporting all retailers once they are live. Critically important is how this team collaborates and liaises with other teams such as Customer Support, Technical Account Management, Engineering and Customer Success teams.

This role is responsible for upholding the reliability vision and acts as the conduit and diplomat, balancing the needs of delivery teams and business stakeholders to ensure production stability while new products, features, updates, and fixes can be released quickly by delivery teams. The role is responsible for making sure that the products and services function flawlessly in an ongoing operational sense, handling the increasing customer demands. 

The Platform Operations Engineer works closely with the Engineering team to ensure ongoing system stability and supports the Technical Account Managers from an environment's perspective. This role is part of the team responsible for keeping services available 24/7/365 a year, as Epsilons success depends heavily on uptime, availability, and reliability of services while scaling and rapid feature delivery.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Uphold operational practices and ensure we design, implement, and operate a support model that is fit for purpose for our future.

• Ensure SLAs and KPIs are met to the best of your ability, with particular focus on first level response times, escalation paths and resolution times.
• Support Technical Account Managers, Client Success Managers and other key stakeholders assigned to customer accounts to provide superior customer service.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with a solid background in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our Technology Team and lead our data infrastructure efforts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure on GCP, ensuring high performance and availability of our systems as we scale. This will involve designing, implementing and maintaining data pipelines; configuring our infrastructure to balance scalability and efficiency; and writing SQL queries which incorporate business logic to provide data to key stakeholders across the business.

The person in this role will collaborate closely with their counterparts across the Technology Team (including in Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Product and Central Operations), but also across other functions like Finance, Marketing and Strategy. In order to be successful they should be comfortable working as a sole expert, hungry to identify opportunities that will provide large business impact, as they’ll be empowered and supported by the Technology Team to implement them. The role is predominantly a hands-on engineering role, but has a people management aspect.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designs, develops and maintains end to end data pipelines, either via SaaS solutions (such as Fivetran) or via custom pipelines (for example that query REST APIs).
• Owns, maintains and improves Zoomo’s GCP infrastructure, optimising for cost and implementing new solutions to support our Software Engineers and Product Managers.
• Understands business requirements, to design and develop solutions which clean, aggregate and surface data to various business stakeholders (including Leadership).
• Delivers fit-for-purpose reports, dashboards (e.g. using Looker), data extracts and advanced analytics which can be consumed by business stakeholders across the organisation.
• Monitors data quality to identify and rectify issues and ensure our datasets are trusted.
• Collaborates with stakeholders across various business functions to gather requirements to support their data needs.
• Is across the latest best practices and provides technical leadership and expertise to engineers and analysts across the business.
• Adheres to and champions high quality code standards, testing and technical documentation.
• Coordinates and communicates with stakeholders to ensure awareness of project status and achievement of project outcomes.
• Provides line management and personal development of a skilled data engineer, which may grow to a team.

• Advanced SQL skills; preferably BigQuery and PostgreSQL, but other SQL flavours are acceptable.
• Experience with building data lake and data warehouse ETL pipelines.
• Experience building within GCP, in particular with BigQuery, PubSub, Cloud Functions, Dataflow, Composer, Firestore and IAM configuration.
• Experience interacting with REST APIs and webhooks.
• Proficient coding skills in Python.
• Experience deploying using Infrastructure-as-Code; preferably Terraform.
• Experience working with both batch and streaming data processing.
• Experience working with visualisation tools to build dashboards; preferably Looker, but Tableau is also acceptable.
• Experience with data governance (managing PII) and metadata management.
• Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, in order to receive, discuss, and shape requirements; and drive projects to completion.

Duties:

As a Network Engineer, you are responsible for the design and support of networking solutions and associated project delivery for First Focus and our clients.

The right person for this role will:

• Design, implement, maintain, and support our clients and First Focus’ growing network infrastructure. You will be part of a systems engineering team that is responsible for designing and supporting scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet client objectives and SLAs.
• Operational Network Management and monitoring for client networks.
• Routing, Switching and firewall deployment of networking technologies.

• Resolve network and service issues
• Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, SD-WAN)
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations

Desired Skills:

To perform this role, we are seeking most of the following experience:

• Solid network engineering experience
• Currently working for or have experience working for a Managed Service provider
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
• Experience with network technologies (i.e. Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, Fortigate, Unifi, Aruba, Palo Alto)
