Job Summary:

The Lead Functional Safety Engineer will lead and execute the functional safety activities for our company's products and systems to ensure our products meet the required safety standards and regulations.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute the functional safety lifecycle activities, including hazard analysis, risk assessment, safety requirements specification, design, implementation, verification, and validation.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, hardware, software, V&V and quality assurance, to ensure safety requirements are appropriately implemented and validated.
• Conduct safety analyses, such as FMEA, FTA, HAZOP, DFA and FMEDA, to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop and implement functional safety strategies and plans following industry standards such as ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
• Develop and maintain functional safety documentation, including safety plans, Safety case reports, and manuals.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to functional safety engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.
• Stay current with the latest functional safety standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure our processes and practices remain compliant.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and certification bodies to ensure that our products meet their safety requirements and expectations.
• Participate in safety audits and assessments and drive corrective actions to address any identified gaps or non-conformances.
• Define and improve safety processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our functional safety activities and ensure continuous improvement.
• Support the functional safety manager in carrying out the Confirmation Measures per ISO 26262 (Confirmation Reviews, Safety Audit, and Safety Assessment)
• Be flexible to travel overseas on occasion.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in functional safety engineering
• At least five years of experience in safety-critical automotive systems
• Strong knowledge of functional safety standards, such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508.
• Proven experience conducting safety analyses, such as FMEA, FTA, HAZOP, DFA and FMEDA.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
• Experience with requirement tools - Polarion or DOORs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• The ability to adapt to changing schedules.
• The capability to work independently in an organised and structured fashion
• Certification in functional safety, such as Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE) or Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP), is a plus.

The Role

The Melbourne role will be based in Abbotsford and will also require travel between customer sites which are both located within Metro and regional VIC as well as phone based support work within our Abbotsford office.

The successful candidates will have previous MSP experience and provide Onsite and remote Incident resolution and fulfilment of onsite desktop activities and ensure the smooth operation of IT services for our customers.

Duties include assisting remote resolver teams with activities that require physical presence, creating knowledgebase articles and process documents, reducing the volume of incidents by identifying and eliminating root cause through pro-active problem management process.  

You will also assist the projects team with deployment of new infrastructure (desk and server side) and acting as the key technical representative of bA managed services. Setup new PC’s, phones, and mobile devices as per customers' existing documented processes and carry out the Software installation of preapproved desk side software.  

2+ years of experience working within a Service Desk or Field Services role.  

Basic understanding of IT Infrastructure with some experience including networking technologies such as routers and switches (switching, routing, VLAN, WLAN, WAN, TCP/IP, Radius, VPN).  

2+ years Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and group policy experience  

2+ years experience working with a ticket management system.

About the Role

The Endpoint Engineering team assists companies by supporting their environments day to day and recommending best practises to follow and implement. The team designs, builds, supports, and continuously improves end user solutions end to end, enabling our customers to transform their business and modernise their end user experience. You will problem-solve technical issues for customers to show how these products can make businesses more productive, collaborative, and innovative. As a SOE Engineer you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Customers endpoint systems with minimal direction and engage in project work when they arise. What you will do

As a SOE Engineer, you will be responsible, but not limited to:

• Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager including SCCM and Intune
• Strong technical knowledge of Active Directory – Group Policy Management
• Strong Scripting ability (PowerShell, VBScript, Batch)
• Experience with Windows 10 task sequencing and end point configuration
• Experience with facilitating large and enterprise scale software deployments

We are putting out an Expression of Interest for a highly experienced Senior System Engineer with a strong background in Citrix to join our team in Richmond. You will test environments post-deployment to verify that the deployment has been a success.

About the Role (Your Why)  

Datacom operations are seeking an Operations Centre Engineer whose role is to monitor systems including Windows, UNIX, Database, Cloud and backups in real-time on a 24x7x365 rotational basis and able to troubleshoot/triage/resolve events or escalating to specialist’s teams for resolution. You will receive a standby allowance for when offshift and when called in to cover, all hours are considered overtime. There is a shift allowance of 12.5% on all working hours too so that standard pay is as uniform as possible, regardless of if you are day or night shift.

It is essentially just above an entry-level role, so don't let the title scare you off! We do still need people with IT experience - the role is perfect for those who have done service desk or desktop engineering work - but note that this is still an associate level position. It is seen as a transitionary role and a great stepping stone to get into higher level IT roles, as has happened with many of our staff since the teams' inception 4 years ago. After working in this role, you should be able to handle the business critical tasks and changes while you have time to focus on any certifications you are interested in. Note that the majority of the work will be from home though and you may be in the office as little as once per month!
