About the Role: We are seeking a Lead Engineer with robust expertise in data architecture and engineering to spearhead the growth of our data practice. You'll primarily collaborate with Australian-based clients, extending your impact to the broader APAC region. As a Lead Data Engineer, you'll lead analytics and data engineering initiatives, collaborating closely with regional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers to empower a multidisciplinary group of data analysts and engineers in building, enhancing, and maintaining data products.
- Engage with Australian clients both in person and virtually to initiate projects, cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, and drive project success.
- Contribute to technical design and architecture discussions, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client needs.
- Support pre-sales efforts by providing technical expertise and solutions tailored to client requirements.
- Champion data and analytics thought leadership within the organization and with clients.
- Ensure adherence to security and performance best practices in solution design and implementation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation required by clients, ensuring clarity and completeness.
- Translate business problems into actionable data solutions, leveraging appropriate frameworks and technologies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in designing and presenting data solutions to diverse stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong background in architecture design and technical leadership, with a focus on developing and deploying data pipelines, data lakes, and other data products.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, with hands-on experience in Microsoft Intelligent Data Platform (MIDP), Databricks, or AWS Data Services.
- Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools like Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or Apache Airflow, coupled with expertise in CI/CD and MLOps pipelines.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and a willingness to adapt and learn new technologies.
- Full Australian working rights are required.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of non-functional requirements such as performance, security, and data privacy.
- Familiarity with design patterns, clean architecture, and clean coding principles.
- Experience in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
