The Opportunity

Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for an Electrical Technical Officer in our Hot Strip Mill (HSM) team based in Port Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

Reporting into the Hot Strip Mill Asset Manager, in this role you will operate within a multi-skilled team focusing on the delivery of sustained improvement in process uptime and unit cost reduction to our HSM plant assets. To ensure operational productivity and asset improvement targets are achieved, you will bring an integrated and comprehensive approach to elimination of defects, identifying and leading improvement projects, coaching team members while minimising risk to the business.

What Will You Do?

Lead and supporting the team to deliver on equipment reliability targets and asset performance, you will:

• provide day to day electrical technical support, advanced problem-solving and fault-finding.
• analyse plant and equipment performance data for patterns and ensure recurring problems are resolved and effective solutions are institutionalised using Root Cause Analysis approaches with a focus on failure elimination 
• Support the day to day management of plant maintenance activities, including the planning, organising, safe execution of maintenance and  the shutdown and commissioning of plant
• coach & mentor maintenance team members by identifying and closing technical knowledge gaps
• identify and implementing equipment reliability and cost improvement projects
• build effective relationships to drive the continuous improvement in the reliability of our HSM assets

 More About You

You will hold a diploma or degree qualification in Electrical Engineering combined with suitable experience in relevant maintenance within manufacturing or heavy industry. As a result, you will have:

• tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
• Electrical supervisor licence.
• a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself, your team and others
• experience working in a similar industry within Electrical Maintenance, with a strong focus on defect elimination and equipment reliability  
• experience with fault finding PLCs and motor control systems 
• the ability to work both independently and as part of a manufacturing team, to influence peers and colleagues to meet operational requirements, scheduling and people demands

Join Lifebroker as a Suspense and Support Officer, a pivotal role in our distribution chain. Reporting to the Client Services Manager – SME, you’ll ensure life insurance applications submitted by our Client Services Team are seamlessly managed through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with Clients, Insurers, and Medical partners to meet application requirements.
• Driving completion within SLAs, including supporting Clients with additional information.

About the role:

You will play a vital role in overseeing the Accounts processes for our suppliers. You will be responsible for accurately processing and recording all accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders. Most importantly, you will contribute to the scalability of the function as we grow. You will also support our accounts receivable process.

This is a fixed-term contract position of 9 months, with a view to permanent employment.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Processing carrier invoices and ensuring they’re reconciled with our systems through our unique shipment references.
• Handle carriers’ invoice and payment queries with professionalism via email/phone.
• Proactively consult with various departments and creditors to resolve quantity and price discrepancies.
• Shipper invoicing.
• Run weekly reports.
• Carrier statements reconciliation.
• Assist in updating system data and job codes.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism while dealing with external stakeholders and provide consistent, timely and accurate delivery of accounts payable services.
• Performing other ad hoc tasks as required by their supervisor.
• Process improvements.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years demonstrated accounts payable experience.
• Tertiary/Post secondary school qualifications in accounting as major or equivalent.
• Advanced ability to use Microsoft productivity software such as Excel.
