As a Data Migration Lead, you'll lead the data migration and analysis work for our clients, partnering closely with our teams and clients to shape and identify requirements and develop new data models in line with the client’s data migration strategy. This role is at the heart of our digital transformation projects, where you will be instrumental in shaping and executing strategies that integrate cutting-edge technologies and practices.

This role requires a strong background and demonstrated experience in leading the transition from legacy ‘on-prem’ systems to native Azure-based cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution

• Develop and refine data migration strategies tailored to client-specific needs, focusing on the transition from legacy on-prem SQL server databases to Azure PaaS environments.
• Oversee the entire data migration lifecycle, ensuring alignment with client objectives and seamless integration with new technologies like Azure SQL DB, Azure Data Factory, Synapse and Power BI
• Analyse, validate and refine existing data migration strategies.
• Develop comprehensive data migration plans, considering constraints such as project timelines, resource requirements, and potential risks. 

Technical Leadership

• Lead the technical aspects of data migration, including the design and implementation of ETL processes using native Azure tooling as appropriate.
• Lead the design and implementation of data protection measures throughout the migration process, including safeguarding data integrity, confidentiality, and availability during and after the migration process.
• Work with our client’s users, technical architects, and application developers to define the data migration requirements and structure for new applications.

Data Analysis and System Integration

• Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing data structures and their compatibility with Azure-based solutions.
• Design and implement data mapping and transformation processes to fit into the new system architecture, ensuring integrity and accessibility of data in the Azure environment.

Data Assessment and Mapping

• Conduct a thorough analysis of existing data structures, identifying dependencies, relationships, and potential challenges.
• Create data mapping documents to ensure accurate and complete migration of data elements.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Implement and oversee rigorous data quality checks and validation processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of migrated data.
• Establish and ensure compliance with data governance standards and security protocols in the Azure cloud environment.

Collaboration and Communication

• Collaborate closely with IT teams, business analysts, and other stakeholders to align data migration strategies with broader business goals.
• Facilitate effective communication channels between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clarity and understanding of the migration process.
• Collaborate with IT and the client’s business areas including Product owners and their teams to address technical issues, troubleshoot errors, and optimise performance during migration. 
• Help the client prepare for the migration process.

• Address and resolve complex technical challenges encountered during migration, employing a problem-solving approach that leverages the latest industry practices.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of the migration processes, decisions, and architectures.

The Canberra Region Cancer Centre is a world-class health care facility that brings together cancer treatment and related services that are provided by Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Haematology, and Immunology. It provides multidisciplinary care and support services to Canberra and Southern NSW communities, including a Cancer Wellbeing Centre, known as Your Space, for wellbeing education and support for patients, families, and carers.

The Canberra Hospital has two newly refurbished cancer wards that provides 28 beds for Oncology patients, and four additional day beds that provide additional capacity for Phase 1 trials as part of the Cancer Clinical Trials Program.

ABOUT the ROLE Reporting to the CIO, this role leads a team responsible for the entire investment cycle of multiple high-value and high-risk loan and grant financing packages, including screening, assessment and implementation of loan and grant packages.   The role is integral to providing sectoral and technical leadership for a diverse portfolio of prospective and current investments. It also the key in building the organisational capability by providing intellectual and technical leadership, and through leadership, mentoring and development of others. OVERVIEW of RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to) Lead the development of loan/and or grant packages, including identifying and assessing quality infrastructure projects, conducting negotiations and ensuring investments are consistent with multiple considerations. Lead the assessment of financial and commercial viability, project deliverability, economic benefits, social and developmental value and investment level environmental and social impacts as well as debt sustainability to ensure responsible lending, particularly as that relates to complex or large-scale projects. Manage large, complex programs and substantial resources (people, finances) for successful implementation, with partners, of agreed investments, including engaging closely with senior staff at post on all activities to ensure quality implementation meeting local content and gender equity and social inclusion targets as well as requirements for social and environmental safeguards. Provide proactive strategic advice and prepare documentation including briefing and internal documents to update relevant posts, cross-Government stakeholders, senior managers, the board, Export Finance Australia, and Ministers. ABOUT the ROLE The Associate Director role ensures quality preparation and implementation of loan and grant based packages especially as they align with the strategic, financial and development interests of the Australian Government and the AIFFP. OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES The role leads on specific transactions, drawing on technical skills (in ICT, transport, energy or water sectors combined with experience in project finance) to identify and assess quality infrastructure projects. Support the assessment of financial and commercial viability, project deliverability, economic benefits, social and developmental value and investment level environmental and social impacts as well as debt sustainability to ensure responsible lending.   Conduct due diligence on the counter-parties. Manage investments for successful implementation, with partners, of agreed investments (may include more than one), engaging closely with diplomatic missions on all monitoring activities to ensure quality implementation meeting local content and gender equity and social inclusion targets as well as requirements for social and environmental safeguards.   Manage all contracts and associated procurement.
