We are looking for an experienced Safety, Health and Environment Manager to join our cotton team, ideally based at our gin in Dalby. This is a fantastic opportunity for a SHE professional that is looking to work for an organisation that has strong engagement and a true commitment to the safety of their people. 

Our SHE Manager will be the driving force behind our strategic plans, leading all SHE operations for our cotton business in Australia. Reporting directly to industry, you'll work hand-in-hand with the wider business to ensure strategic alignment with global initiatives and support the local team to drive best practices at our geographically disperse sites.

You'll be part of a collaborative culture that fosters an improved safety culture, ensuring operational excellence. We are seeking a safety leader with:

• Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and deliver on projects and practices that increase shared knowledge and success for SHE
• Experience leading a small SHE team across a geographically dispersed business
• Ability to influence and drive the effective implementation of LDC Global SHE systems throughout all Australian cotton sites and operations

You will play a key role in the strategic direction and be instrumental in coaching and supporting the team through your leadership of safety projects and ongoing improvements. Regular travel will be required. While our preference is for this role to be located at one of our gin sites in Moree, Dalby or Emerald, other locations may be considered.

Overview of the role

FIS APAC Solution Engineering Team is an established and growing practice with Developers, Architects, DevOps Engineers, and Cloud Engineers. FIS is looking for a Development Lead / Solution Engineering Manager to line manage the Developer team.

The role will report to the FIS APAC Solution Engineering Practice Manager. Work closely with Sales, Product Management, and Regional and Global development teams to ensure that our solutions are not only feasible but also scalable and align with our overall business goals. The role will suit an experienced Development Technical lead that is ready to take the next step to becoming a people manager with a regional remit. 

What you will be doing

• Manage a team of Solution Engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development support.

• Lead the transformation of the development team from J2EE based framework to an Akka CQR/Event Sourcing based framework.

• Drive the adoption of best practices in solution engineering and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality solutions. Ensuring quality starts in the development cycle.

• Participate in strategic planning sessions to contribute insights and recommendations based on technical expertise.

• Works closely with the Solution Engineering Practice Manager to help define and implement group processes and way of working.

• Forecasts resource needs and identify and allocate technical resources to FIS product development and client projects.

• Maximizes both utilization and revenue of assigned teams’ billable time.

• Manages work efforts and performance of subordinates with responsibility for hiring, performance appraisals and remuneration reviews.

• Lead the design and presentation of technical solutions to Clients, ensuring alignment with their business objectives. Serves as subject matter expert and provides input into strategic direction of the group, product, and project direction.

• Partner with Regional development teams to ensure technical feasibility and to incorporate client feedback into product development.

• Partner with the Quality Assurance Practice Manager to embed test automation into the development lifecycle.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.

• Collaborates with Solution Engineering leads across the globe including EMEA and the Americas.

• Ensures the team deliveries high quality code that meets security and risk standards and regulatory compliance.

• Identify training / coaching needs and elevate the average competency of the broader team.

What you bring

•  Project Management and consulting background for Large complex multiple projects

•  Leadership competency and good business acumen

•  Experience in Payments or Cards system implementation and professional services for corporates and/or banking and financial services is a plus

•  Executive stakeholders' management

• Knowledge of financial industry practices, regulations and operations is a plus.

• Experience with Java, EJB, J2EE, JMS, Hibernate, JSON, XML etc.

• Experience with TDD, developing unit, integration, and business tests. (i.e., Citrus, Cucumber etc.) .

• Skilled in project management, organization, communications, analytical and people skills.

Skilled in leading, supervising and managing effectively under pressure.

• Ability to be comfortable interacting with executive level clients and internal product and project management.

• Ability to delegate projects to qualified subordinates as appropriate.

Other Technical Needs:

• Experience with AKKA, CQRS, Event Sourcing.

• Experience with cloud preferably AWS and Azure.

• Experience in DevOps CI/CD and Configuration management.

• Experience with containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Experienced with end-to-end systems development life cycles and standards.

• Experienced with Agile/SCRUM project delivery.

• Working Knowledge of JIRA or equivalent.

• Experience in REST and SOAP.

• Experience with databases technologies such as Oracle and PostgreSQL, preferably PostgreSQL.

• Experience with microservices frameworks such as Spring Boot.
