Royal International Commerce Pty Ltd, a leading importer and distributor of fresh European food, seeks an organised and reliable Quality Assurance Manager for a full-time, permanent position.
Royal focus on B2B business relationships. Its clients are the major Australian retailers and the most important food distributors. The range counts more than 100 cheeses and type of smallgoods. These are imported mainly from Italy, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and other European countries.

Therefore, a deep knowledge of Food Safety Standards, Code, Certification programs and to be updated with any new legal requirement is crucial to provide proper service to all the accounts. In addition, due to nature of our business, it is also required a deep knowledge of European languages, geography, and Mediterranean’s food culture.
The Quality Assurance Manager plays a key role in the lead, creation, management, and coordination of any Food Safety activities and the Certification programs (HACCP, SQF, FICA and others) that are required by the business. The correct candidate must be able to liaise in a professional manner with external stakeholders including overseas suppliers, internal stakeholders, and major retailers to ensure Food Safety and Quality compliance.
The job requires not only a deep and up-to-date knowledge of the subjects, but also attention to details, excellent communication skills and support to all other company departments.
Core objectives include:
• Being the internal HACCP Team Leader / SQF Practitioner.
• Organising and maintain Food Safety system documentation (HACCP, SQF, FICA and other certifications).
• Assisting third party (external) audits and conducting internal audits.
• Keeping up to date the Quality Policy Manual and Forms.
• Conducting monitoring, mock recalls and reviews as required (GMP)
• Assisting QA processes during new product developments with Customers.
• Investigating and responding to Customer complaints
• Training all staff to Food safety, QA company standards and policies.
• Liaising with Governmental agencies regarding food safety compliance.
• Conducting quality inspections to product specification.
• Records, analyses and reports on products’ quality and service.
· Coordinating internal work within team members and colleagues.
· Planning and implementing corrective actions with customers and suppliers.
· Reviewing internal policy and communication flows to improve services provided.
· Reporting to other business department to identify new opportunities while responding to business expectation.

? At least 2 years’ experience in a position with direct report responsibilities.
? Quality assurance skills and strong problem-solving attitude.
? Tendency to improve company outcome while achieving personal and team goals.
? Degree in Food Science (preferred) or similar qualification.
? Deep knowledge of European food culture, with a strong focus in cheese and ham.
? Written and spoken professional English proficiency.
? Proactive, attentive to detail, precise, curious, and with professional manner.
? Fluent in English and at least one other languages between Italian, Spanish and French.
? Experience with ERP management systems.
