The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of the Weekly, Fortnightly and Monthly pay runs. You will also responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the payroll system data in accordance with applicable Federal and State legislation as well as Montu Internal Controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing:
  • Accurately process and reconcile employee timesheets and salaries in line with Montu’s contractual obligations and employment legislation.
  • Calculate and process adjustments, including salary increases, bonuses and other compensation components in line with Montu contractual obligations.
  • Calculate and process termination payments within legislative deadlines.
  • Calculate and process expense reimbursements approved through expense system in line with Montu policies.
  • Accurately process third party and legislative deductions and payments in line with Montu legislative obligations.
  • Ensure accurate accruals of leave entitlements, superannuation and other employee benefits in the payroll system.
• Payroll Queries:
  • Address all general payroll queries from employees, providing general guidance on pay interpretation and Montu policy.
  • Resolve payroll-related issues promptly and efficiently or escalate to management where appropriate.
• Records and Systems Maintenance:
  • Maintain accurate employee data within the payroll system assuring alignment with the HRIS system by regularly auditing the interface and fixing errors.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping of all payroll related correspondence and supporting documentation in line with Montu internal controls.
  • Assist in any system maintenance upgrades, testing or implementations.

About the role

This is a key role which reports directly to the Demand Planning Manager and is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to demonstrate their experience in:

• Supporting all forecasting and analysis activities associated with the product portfolio they are allocated to and with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Creating and maintaining forecast models, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from internal and external sources.
• Integration point into the Marketing, Sales and Finance functions across the S&OP process.

About you

Along with 2 years’ experience in a demand planning and analytical role, you will have:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel, SQL and PowerBI a must.
• Proficiency in demand planning software and statistical analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated experience working with ERP and/or order management applications.
• Knowledge of S&OP principles & practices.

The Purpose:

This role is part of the 24/7 IT operations team that performs a critical function in the monitoring of mission critical systems, responding to alerts, providing comprehensive level 1 customer support and working with technology partners, support teams and business stakeholders.  

The role requires participation in a continuous shift roster, including the provision of cover for team members taking annual or personal leave. 

Primary Accountabilities, Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing 24/7 ‘eyes on glass’ monitoring of various AP+ systems and applications.

• Providing comprehensive 24/7 operational and incident management support to a diverse group of customers and internal stakeholders.

• Ensuring timely response to alerts, calls and emails and adherence to service levels and performance metrics.

• Undertaking the day to day support activities and complete tasks within defined service levels.

• Performing triage activities including prioritising service requests, incidents and problems, and escalating to appropriate support groups.

• Following documented procedures for effective and efficient resolution of incidents and problems.

• Performing change analysis and support activities as part of change enablement processes.

• Participating in post incident reviews and root cause analysis activities as part of problem management.

• Developing and maintaining a knowledge management database including relevant processes and procedures.

• Identifying opportunities to improve observability of system health and performance through analysis of alerts trends.

• Driving continual improvement through improving task workflows, processes and working towards automation.

We'd love to hear from you if have:

• Experience in a similar role in a continuous shift IT operations environment (24x7x365).

• Familiarity with Unix, PL/SQL, Java, Jboss application server.

• Understanding of cloud technology e.g. AWS, web services, Apigee API.

• Experience with the usage and configuration of monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk, Dynatrace).

• Experience with ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence).

• Knowledge of payments processing environments is desirable (e.g. Connex switch, tokenisation, EMV 3DS, NPP).

• Experience with web and app support, batch processes, and data management.

We are seeking an experienced Payments Business Analyst specialising in Card Schemes based in Australia. This role is perfect for a professional with payments Business Analyst experience particularly with card networks such as Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Diners and EFTPOS. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating the complexities of card schemes, regulatory frameworks, and providing guidance helping optimise payments processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide business analyst capabilities on card schemes, interchange fees, and transaction processing including monitoring scheme reports.
• Work with internal stakeholders to navigate enhancement change programmes.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, card networks, and payment processors.
• Conduct detailed analysis and reporting on card transaction trends, interchange fees, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies within the payments ecosystem.
• Support Acquiring Operations team in navigating compliance challenges, particularly with card scheme mandates other industry changes.
• Lead workshops and training sessions for internal stakeholders on best practices in card schemes and payment strategies.
  

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years' Business Analyst experience in the payments industry, with a focus on card schemes.
• Strong understanding of Visa, MasterCard, and EFTPOS networks, including fee structures, compliance requirements, and risk management.
• Experience in payment gateway integration, acquiring, and processing services.
• Proven track record of delivering payment project changes and problem solving capabilities
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks especially local Australian payment regulations.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in data analysis and cost optimization related to card payments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A collaborative mindset, with experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver payments solutions.
