A draftsperson at Stockpro works with the production team to produce shop drawings for fabrication and installation onsite. Some projects require our drafting team to collaborate with shed construction companies to ensure design integration and smooth construction.
The types of drafting work involved include designing/updating fabricated items such as cattle crushes and truck loading ramps and preparing 2D installation plans along with detailed BOMs from survey data and drone imagery.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Prepare job cards with fabrication drawings, BOMs, installation plans and files for survey equipment (DWG & CSV)
- Prepare Parts drawings for CNC machinery: profile cutting etc. and outsourced fabrication
- Update spreadsheets to maintain accurate allocation of componentry and raw material
- Expand collection of standard yard design/templates with new designs
- Participating in Design Reviews within the design team and with other business functions to ensure products are optimised
- Communicate with shed construction companies (new builds) and other stakeholders
- Assisting in the sourcing of new vendors where required
- Create assembly and use instructions to ensure staff and customers easily understand the installation, operation and maintenance of products
- Assist management with R & D new product design
- Assist sales by designing concept yard plans from standard yard designs

Qualifications, skills and experience:

- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Pg diploma in CAD cam and tool design.
- A current driver’s license.
- Able to interpret structural drawings and specifications
- Proficient preparation of Shop Drawings and 3D models
- Ability to develop Shop Drawings that are effective for the intended use by fabrication staff and installers
- Proficient knowledge of metal fabrication techniques
- Communication skills to collaborate with project managers, tradespeople, factory staff and clients.
- Able to work in a team or independently and work on multiple projects concurrently
