They are seeking highly skilled and trade qualified Mechanical Technician to join their team of professionals on a full time and permanent basis.
The role includes but is not limited to:
Conduct routine and preventive mechanical maintenance tasks on vehicle and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and longevity
Study drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settings
Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
Replacing/fitting of fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies
Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
Diagnose vehicle/equipment malfunctions, perform repairs, and execute corrective maintenance to prevent operational disruptions
Carry out inspections to identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems efficiently
Collaborate with the team to implement improvement strategies for equipment reliability and performance
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements and inspections
May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness
May respond to vehicle or equipment breakdown service calls
Comply with safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment
To be considered for this role, you must have:
Trade qualification as Mechanical Technician or equivalent
With at least 4 years of proven experience as mechanical technician or similar role
Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment
Able to use wide range of hand and power tools
Strong knowledge of troubleshooting technique and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks
Physically fit and able to work in various conditions
Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
Strong communication and reporting skills
Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable
Must have great work ethics
