About the Position
Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Technician
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.
Location: Clarke Creek, QLD 4705
Salary: $85,000
Position Overview
The position provides critical assistance to the construction management team and mainly involves working on-site, with projects spread across Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales.
Key Responsibilities
The main duties of the Mechanical Engineering Technician include:
• Interpret plans, drawings, sketches for foundation works and mechanical structures;
• Working closely with construction managers to estimate material costs, team size and machinery requirements for projects to establish budget;
• Perform and analyse structural pile load testings as per Australian standards;
• Oversee and carry out quality assurance control on all finished work ahead of handing over to the client to ensure all are within agreed specifications;
• Manage fleet and machinery servicing and maintenance, ensuring maintenance paperwork is kept up to date; and
• Attend meetings and briefings and communicate with contractors and clients as required.
Qualification and Experience Required
• White Card
• Current Drivers Licence for both car and truck (HR)
• Have 2+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering related fields
• Have experience with utility scale solar farm construction
• Have experience with hydraulic pile drivers and crawler drills
• The following Tickets and VOCs:
o RIINHB306E- Conduct large diameter auger drilling
o RIINHB330 – Conduct down-hole hammer drilling
