The Opportunity
Our Acacia Ridge facility is looking for a ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN in our Processing and Logistics team based in Queensland. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, this fast-paced site operates a continuous production environment. In this busy site that handles over 500,000 tonnes of steel per year, you will have direct impact on the delivery performance of BlueScope Australian Steel Products.
In this business-critical role, you will be supporting the production team by ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standard to meet our objectives for safety, quality, and reliability. You will be providing hands-on maintenance services to our production teams in a continuous manufacturing environment, so we can continue to make and deliver our world-class product to our valued customers.

What Will You Do?
In this dynamic and independent role, you will:
- follow the safe system of work and develop isolation instructions and job safety analysis for the required work
- perform safe, efficient, and effective emergency repairs
- fault-find on electrical equipment including PLCs, drives, and instrumentation systems
- inspect and maintain equipment, identify improvement opportunities, and report on findings
- respond to and rectify electrical breakdowns
The Acacia Ridge Service Centre operates 24×7. The roster for this position is a rotating 12 hour shift, working 2 days, 2 nights, and 4 days off.
More About You
With a background in a electrical trade, you will have exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving ability. You will also bring:
- electrical trade qualifications and a current A Grade QLD Electrical License
- experience working with PLCs and drives would be highly regarded but is not essential
- experience in fault finding and problem solving
- strong attention to detail with the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
- initiative in carrying out equipment repairs
- an eagerness to identify and implement continuous improvement projects
- a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
