As an Assistant Night Manager, you will manage the hotel’s nightly operations when the Night Manager is rostered off. Success in this position is ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction, being a responsible and respectful leader to others, and guiding a small team to accurately balance the books during the quietest time of the day.

Night work is not for everyone, but does have advantages – flexibility to do school drop off/pick up, availability to study and the freedom to choose how to spend your days. This position provides high level research assistance for the research project: Implementing cognitive interventions for older people in memory clinics: A pilot feasibility study, as directed by Associate Professor Kerryn Pike. The primary research is a pilot trial, conducted by the Australian Dementia Network (ADNeT) Cognitive Interventions Working Group. The trial aims to determine whether a clinician training package can increase the availability of cognitive interventions for older adults with mild cognitive impairment through memory clinics.

The Senior Research Assistant will be involved in data analysis, preparing papers for publication, conference presentations, and funding applications.

What we can offer
This is a fixed term (until 31st Dec with opportunity to extend), part-time (0.5FTE) position and can be based remotely. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be SR Level 1 range $88,995 - $99,367 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $104,124 - $116,259 per annum.

What will you be doing?

• Assist and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Front Office team
• Supervise and monitor team members with true leadership ability that motivates the entire team.
• Take initiative to ensure all interactions with our guests are positive and productive.  
• Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Hotel's operation in absence of the General Manager/Senior Managers with a high level of customer service provided at all times.
• Actively resolve complaints and challenges presented by guests/customers to reach a win-win situation.
• Ensure there is management support and presence visible on Front Desk and in the lobby during key times throughout the day.  
• Process and assist with check-in and check-out of guests when needed.
• Respond to and coordinate emergency situations.
