The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Wangara team in our BlueScope Building Components business as a Residential Business Development Manager. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and supplies steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.
In this newly created role, we are seeking an individual with a relentless drive, resourcefulness, and true entrepreneurial spirit to spearhead sales growth within the residential segment. Working within our sales team, you will use your existing relationships with key industry stakeholders, inspiring them to use our products for better building designs, thus ensuring our competitiveness in targeted building and construction projects, both now and into the future.
Your primary focus will be on engaging with Builders & contractors within the residential segment to develop partnerships and grow our brand presence and sales.
As we expand our footprint across Western Australia, you'll have the opportunity to tap into various channels and avenues to reach our target audience effectively. With your strategic sales approach, you'll craft a comprehensive go-to-market strategy that not only delivers short-term wins but also lays a solid foundation for sustained growth and success in the long run.
Working Monday to Friday, this opportunity includes a competitive remuneration package including a laptop, mobile phone and a fully maintained company vehicle or car allowance.
What Will You Do?
Drawing on your existing relationships, expertise, networks, and connections in the industry, you will:
- identify business opportunities and industry stakeholders through strategic business development activity, research and industry networking events
- education builders on NCC compliance and changes aligned with our products and systems
- gain the trust and respect of our customers and manage complex relationships with sensitivity
- engage with architects, WA builders and regulatory bodies to stimulate interest in, increase knowledge of and inspire the use of our products in order to secure future specification
- liaise with internal sales and marketing teams within your business unit to connect channel partners with suitable customers to deliver solutions and commercial outcomes
- keep a detailed client portfolio and working closely with the sales team to convert your specifications and agreements into a firm orders
- own and manage the residential pipeline process
More About You
As an innovative business development professional who is exceptional at networking and building sustainable relationships, you will bring:
- strong contacts and relationships with residential builders and developers at Tier 1 and Tier 2 firms, as well as a history of previous sales to residential builders
- demonstrated success in obtaining specifications and translating key customer requirements into improved product and service offerings
- acumen to form agreement documents & costings
- ability to navigate complex sales channels and deal with ambiguity
- a sound knowledge of the construction practices in the residential building sector -
