Your work will be varied and challenging, and the successful applicant will be required to work under pressure and meet strict maintenance deadlines in an industrial environment. As we are a meat processing facility, your role will require you to come into contact with animal waste and by-products. An advanced knowledge and all round ability to carry out a variety of electrical work will be required, industrial experience favoured.

The role will also involve preventative and break down maintenance operations for a large production processing plant and commodities storage and freight terminal.

 

Skills and experience

Applicants will need to possess recent experience in electrical work, carrying out repairs and maintenance on equipment such as generators, RCD testing and general electrical maintenance. 

The suitable applicant will demonstrate abilities in:

Commitment to WHS policies and procedures

Trade qualifications (Certificate III)

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to work weekends as required

Good communication skills

Minimum annual salary $54,000

$38 base hourly rate (Casual $47.50)

We are seeking meat processing workers perform a wide range of tasks, including handling, slaughtering and processing livestock, operating processing and rendering equipment, dispatching products, and keeping records.

Multiple positions available for skilled meat workers including Boners and Slaughters.



ABOUT THE JOB

To be successful the applicants will need to demonstrate a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the meat industry and have obtained a minimum skill level of AQF Certificate III in meat processing (boning or slaughtering).

Boner and Slicer

A boner and slicer breaks down carcasses by removing bones and slicing meat so that it is ready for sale or further processing.

Slaughterer

A slaughterer works in the area where the animals are killed and the hides and internal organs are removed.

Minimum annual salary $63,000

 

Main duties include:

Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems and materials required

Setting out and installing hot and cold water systems and associated equipment

Installing water-based fire protections systems, including fire hydrants, hose reels and sprinkler systems

Designing and installing sanitary plumbing and water supply systems, discharge pipes and sanitary fixtures

Fabricating and installing soil and waste stacks

Assembling and installing mechanical services plant, air handling and conditioning equipment and small bore heating systems

Installing sewerage and effluent pumping equipment and disposal systems

Installing below-ground drainage systems and associated ground support systems

Installing gas appliances, flues and pressure regulating devices

Fabricating and installing metal roofing, rainwater goods and flashings

New construction work

 

Experience and Qualifications Required:

Minimum 5+ years’ experience

Formal qualification - AQF Certificate IV

Experience in industrial plumbing

Must be trade licensed

An advanced knowledge and all round ability to carry out a variety of fitter, turner & machinist work will be required.

 

Main duties include:

Set up and adjust machines and equipment.

Fit and assemble parts, tools.

Dismantle faulty tools and assemblies and repair or replace defective parts.

Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools.

In this role you will be responsible for general mechanical maintenance that includes mechanical repair on a day to day basis as well as ensuring downtime is minimized. In addition, you will develop and implement systems that will maximise the efficiency of and minimise cost of utilities. You will also recommend and develop initiatives that will enhance productivity, efficiency and profitability of the plant.

 

Experience and Qualifications Required:

To apply for this role, you will need to be a licensed Fitter and Turner with experience in a maintenance role preferably within a manufacturing environment.
