About the position
This position has a primary role in supervising, mentoring and developing practice for a small team of provisional psychologists (up to 4). The role will support the services’ capacity and capability to meet the needs of young people accessing the service, through the oversight of the headspace psychology training program. The psychology supervisor will be required to provide supervision, reflective practice, case load monitoring for care & safety planning, risk assessment, therapeutic intervention and closure. The Psychology Supervisor will support the Clinical Leadership team to develop and support the delivery of Brief Interventions Clinic (BIC) and sessional psychological interventions within the scope of practice of clinicians within the student lead clinic.
This role specifically requires an individual that is approved for Clinical Supervision according to the Australian Psychological Association (APA). The role will be supported with additional accredited supervisor in a secondary capacity.
Some of your key responsibilities will be:
Supervision of provisional psychologists on placement at headspace aligned to professional standards and guidelines.
Manage new and existing partnerships with relevant university placement programs
Support ongoing development and review of a student led psychology clinic
