Job Summary

SY9 is Equinix Australia’s first HyperScale data center and as the current team move towards our customer arriving onsite from June, we are looking to recruit a Critical Facilities Specialist with extensive Electrical and building systems technical knowledge.

The successful applicant will have complete knowledge and full understanding of principles and practices across relevant systems with an ability to be the Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the disciplines. Overseeing and undertaking ongoing site maintenance, they will assess unusual circumstances and use sophisticated analytical and problem-solving techniques to identify root cause.

Whilst a strong data center operations background is required, the Critical Facilities teams operate in unison and across disciplines, so a sound broad engineering understanding is desirable also. Those at Specialist level are encouraged to resolve and assesses a wide range of issues in creative ways and suggest variations in approach.

The position is for the fully qualified, expert professional who will be a lead engineer onsite at SY9. Our team will consist of engineers from Graduates through to seniors and the ideal candidate will be someone who can share their Electrical knowledge and expertise with the team and help to develop your colleagues around you.

Responsibilities

• Technical Support - Responsible for technical niche repairs on mission-critical data center systems requiring sophisticated analytical problem solving techniques to identify cause
• Reporting - Reviews specialized contractual reports and activities
• Site Maintenance - Oversees the site maintenance and upkeep of Data center infrastructures according to Equinix global standards
• Assess Adherence to Policy - Ensures all repairs performed on all Data center infrastructure are according to the manufacturer’s guidelines and standard methodologies
• Complexity & Problem Solving - Aids in root cause analysis and in repair of specialized failed critical components. Devises solutions based on limited information and precedent and adapts existing approaches to resolve issues. Uses evaluation, judgment, and interpretation to select right course of action. Your work will be conducted independently and is reviewed at critical points only
• Collaboration & Interaction - Liaises with design stakeholders on design changes. Enhances relationships and networks with senior internal/external partners who are not familiar with the subject matter often requiring persuasion. Adapts style to different audiences. and often advises others on difficult matters. Supports, Mentoring and development of Critical Facilities Engineers
• Design - Validates design criteria for new principal controls upgrades and installs

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience in a Mission Critical role
• Bachelor’s degree or Trade Certification in Electrical or Engineering
• Expert level HV, generator experien

Who are we?

The role:

The Critical Facilities Specialist supports the team by performing repairs and leading site maintenance at a static site, ensuring adherence to Equinix global standards.

Given the make up of the team all engineers work across engineering disciplines and help train and develop colleagues needed. Strong mechanical/HVAC qualifications and experience are needed for the role as well as the ability to work and collaborate positively with vendors, customers and the team around you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Support and Advice: Provide the team with engineering support and expertise and act as a subject matter expert (SME). Offer training to team members as needed.
• Breakdown and Repairs Management: Manage breakdowns and repairs of data center infrastructure, following manufacturer's guidelines and standard methodologies.
• Maintenance Scheduling and Planned Preventative Maintenance: Coordinate maintenance schedules and perform planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Security Policy and Procedures: Maintain security policy and procedures for the site.
• Reporting: Review specialist contractual reports and activities.
• Consistency to Policy: Ensure repairs on data center infrastructure are performed according to manufacturer's guidelines and standard methodologies.
• Problem Solving: Conduct root cause analysis and repair failed components.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with regional construction or design teams on design changes.
• Design: Validate design criteria for new principal power installations.

Qualifications:

• Trade Certificate or Degree in Mechanical/HVAC/refrigeration or related field
• Willingness to work autonomously and unsupervised when required
• Ideally, some data center, industrial and/or mission-critical exposure and experience
• Positive demeanor and outlook, enjoys working in a team environment
• Ability to attain and maintain NV1 security clearance

Role Purpose             

This role is for a creative and self-motivated Software Developer with considerable exposure to multiple technologies and platforms and who is keen to join a multi-cultural software company. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining an existing code base and for investigating, fixing and testing existing software problems.

About the Role

We are looking for Vessel Masters to join our team at Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures for our 2024 season. As a Vessel Master, you will be responsible for the safe operations of the vessel along with providing a memorable and enjoyable experience for every guest. You will be responsible for the overall safety and compliance, record keeping and logs, onboard maintenance, vessel presentation and the management of crew onboard.

About You

You will be a great fit in this role if you have:

• AMSA issued Coxswain ticket (with no restrictions) as a minimum, Master <24m highly desirable
• AMSA Marine Engine Driver 2 highly desirable
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Prior experience operating vessels in a tourism environment or experience operating vessels in the Kimberley (desirable)
• A passion for marine tourism and ensuring that guests receive an incredible experience
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
• A proative, solutions focused mindset able to problem solve effectively while keeping safety at the forefront of everything that you do
• The ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
