The Payroll Officer role is the newest addition to our in-house Global payroll team. Reporting to our Global Payroll Manager in Melbourne, you will be joining our People and Culture (P&C) team that fosters collaboration and diversity. You will be responsible for meticulously and promptly preparing and processing the monthly payrolls, with a dedicated emphasis on the Australian region. Your role will involve ensuring the payrolls are error-free and completed on schedule, guaranteeing accuracy and timely delivery. As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the smooth functioning of the Australian payroll system. While this is a hands-on role, you will be supported by our Payroll Manager, Finance team members and local payroll vendors in respective jurisdictions for quality payroll outcomes for our people and improving operational efficiencies.

To thrive in this role, you'll have previous experience in a fast-paced environment where change is a constant and you're comfortable managing multiple priorities at once! You'll also be excited at the prospect of learning new payroll jurisdictions - we have offices across Australia, UK, Europe, Dubai, Kenya, Bahamas and Chile.

This is a fixed term position for 15 months, with the view to ongoing after the completion of the current payroll implementation project.

As our Payroll Officer, your key responsibilities include, but not limited to :

• Accurately and promptly handle the monthly payroll processing for Pepperstone offices in Australia and other regions (with the support of our Payroll Officer in Cyprus)
• Manage all employee lifecycle changes, including new hires, terminations, redundancies, and salary adjustments, in collaboration with the P&C team
• Address general payroll inquiries from the Pepperstone team
• Supervise and provide assistance with complex payroll queries
• Perform payroll tasks at the end of each period, month, and year
• Deliver a high standard of customer service focused on timeliness, accuracy, and a personable approach while fostering strong working relationships with team members globally
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements set by local and governing agencies
• Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation, with support as needed
• Contribute to the development of payroll processes, striving for automation and optimization along with the Payroll Manager
• Provide support to the P&C team in general administration activities

About You:

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role as a payroll specialist/officer in Australia.
• Experience working in medium to large businesses (min. 250 employees) with ability to thrive in a high volume and fast paced business.
• Good stakeholder and project management skills to manage and deliver a roadmap of initiatives   
• Excellent attention to details
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to be available across time zones on an ad hoc basis (ex: during payroll cycles).

The Opportunity

KBR's Land Domain team is current seeking a Systems Safety Engineer to support our Lethality Program Team in Melbourne. The Lethality Program ensures ADF dismounted combatants, operating as part of a combined arms team, have a range of state of the art lethal and non-lethal systems that will decisively overmatch potential and emerging adversaries. The team is required to acquire and deliver the next generation of munitions and weapon systems to enable the war fighter to conduct their mission effectively.

Responsibilities

As the Systems Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, identifying, documenting, and mitigating hazards that contribute to the project platforms. You will be part of a multi-disciplined engineering team working with various stakeholders including our Prime contractor and the Commonwealth client.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical / Electrical / Systems or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing safety documents and the ability to assess hazards and risks.
• Strong time management, organisational and analytical skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management and communication skills.
• Hold and maintain an active Baseline or NV1 (or above) AGSVA Security Clearance (Essential).
• Hold a relevant safety qualification (Graduate Certification, WHS or similar) (Desired).

This role requires immediate access to ITAR information and a Baseline/NV1 security clearance. Job location is Victoria Barracks in Melbourne.

Cloud

As an Early Career in Cloud you’ll be responsible for driving continuous automation of cloud operations and associated delivery leveraging agile methodologies. This is a highly specialised team, your role will include lots of further study and certifications. Your tasks might include;

• Supporting customers and Datacom cloud services focusing on automation and continuous improvement within the agreed Datacom frameworks
• Uplifting Cloud automation and delivery maturity across Datacom leveraging agile/DevOps methodologies
• Enhancing the Datacom managed public cloud services solutions by applying an ‘automate where possible’ approach

Platforms

As an Early Career in our Systems Engineering team you'll be part of a team that maintain hardware, physical or virtual operating system platforms as well as providing support services to maintain the organisations systems and networks. A successful candidate would be capable of managing multiple clients, have strong communication skills both written and verbal, ability to write and follow process documentation and strong troubleshooting capability. This team can teach the technical knowledge, but you must have a desire to learn and ability to break down and work through a problem.

Preferred by not required skills

• Experience with / knowledge of Windows Server Operating systems
• Active Directory Domain Services,
• Server Virtualisation (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V)

Networks

We have two teams within Networks hiring. Your role may be more aligned to a Network Engineer where you would be responsible for maintaining data communication services, with a focus on maximum availability and performance to customers. Building network engineering knowledge through hands-on exposure to networking technology and on-the-job mentoring.

• Work on events (alerts, alarms), incidents, simple – standard changes, patching, keeping documentation updated and servicing assigned ITSM tickets as required
• Monitoring tickets raised by clients and problem solving accordingly.
• Improving the performance of operating systems and firmware

Or you could be part of a small group that manages platforms and monitoring tools, helping maintain data inside the tools, assisting with patching and developing new integrations. A background or exposure to Linux system, scripting and basic code writing and knowledge of REST APIs would be great as you work with Network monitoring tools, Spectrum and NetOps products.

Cyber

An Early Careers Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for assisting the Cyber Operations Centre Platforms & Solutions team with monitoring and responding to events or incidents before escalating to senior team members for further investigation. Your tasks may include

• Operational Security Excellence.

• Identifying Incidents or Events of Interest.
• Incident, Change and Problem Management.
• Daily Event/Incident/Ticket Reviews.
• Assisting with security service-related changes according to standard processes.
• Assisting with security service-related problem ticket investigations.

Application Services

Application Services delivers the full set of software-related services. We conceive, design, build and deliver bespoke, custom-built solutions, platform-based solutions and integration solutions from our Digital Engineering, Business Platforms, Data & Analytics and Digital Platforms teams. 

We also provide support of solutions once they reach production through our Application Assurance Service Line, using state-of-the-art and high-value DevOps and Agile methods not traditionally seen in the production support world.

About the Role (your why)

As the IT Service Continuity Manager, you will be responsible for managing the customers’ continuity requirements and IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) Services

In this role, you will ensure the delivery of value to our customers and internal stakeholders through high-quality customer delivery of ITSCM Services, with the goal of Disaster Recovery readiness aligned with the customers’ Service Continuity Plans

This role can be based in our Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney Office. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best! Due to customer requirements to obtain AGSVA clearances, you must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible for this role (current AGSVA Baseline or NV1 Clearances will be highly regarded).

What you’ll do
At the moment, asan IT Service Continuity Manager, you will be focused on:

• Leading the Disaster Recovery team in assessing, developing, coordinating and communicating recovery environment requirements and plans
• Ensuring Disaster Recovery plans align with relevant legislation and organisational insurance requirements
• Identifying recovery requirements for new applications and systems. Managing implementation of recovery and availability techniques and technologies and reviewing periodically for ongoing validity
• Maintaining monthly status reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, and Disaster Recovery documentation
• Ensuring Disaster Recovery employees have the required skills to carry out their roles and are developed to meet ongoing staffing requirements
• Leading and representing the ITSCM and BCM service on behalf of Datacom to your customers
• Delivering high quality BCM and ITSCM services ensuring compliance with Datacoms relevant policies, processes, and procedures
• Ensuring all stakeholders adhere to the relevant processes in line with customer requirements and Best Practices
• Lead customer Business Continuity and ITSCM projects as required

• Strong engagement skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven business process analysis experience.
• Exposure to eCommerce, wholesale distribution, and manufacturing environments.
• ERP systems experience (NetSuite an advantage) and familiarity with SaaS applications like Jira.
• In-depth knowledge of contemporary analysis, design, and implementation methodologies.
• Expertise in application cyber security best practices.
