About the role

Octopus is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Grid team who will be responsible for leading grid related activities and providing technical support to the broader business through the project lifecycle including:

• Technologies: Wind, standalone utility scale batteries and solar hybrid.
• M&A:  Provide strategic network-related insight on new investment opportunities and manage related due diligence activities.
• Development:
  • Support team during the early-development phase of projects, mainly in preliminary design of solar, wind and hybrid facilities
  • Engage in commercial and technical grid aspects of EPC, eBoP, and O&M tenders including the selection of key inverter and PPC equipment
• Connection Process: Lead the connection process including managing the TNSP, AEMO and technical consultants
• Construction: Support including R1, Registration, and R2 compliance
• Operation: Support team in ongoing compliance of operational assetts.

The role is based in Melbourne or Sydney – with site visits required periodically to our projects throughout various stages. Our current portfolio consists of a mixture of greenfield through to late-stage assets.

About The Role:

As the Principal Engineer you will provide advanced customisation and troubleshooting support to the company’s ERP team.  You will also be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Provide support to ensure system faults are rectified promptly. 
• Design, develop, and deploy SharePoint-based applications, including web parts, workflows, forms, and custom solutions. 
• Develop technical solutions to meet ongoing business requirements. 
• Enable users at all levels to perform their jobs effectively. 
• Ensure business reports are accurate and provided in a timely manner. 
• Support continuous improvement of systems. 
• Assist the organisation in the selection, development of and transition to new solutions. 
• Build rapport and working relationship with teams within the business at both management and end user level. 

 What You’ll Bring:

• Proven experience as a SharePoint Developer or similar role. 
• At least 7 years’ experience in application development, ideally in a service provider environment, with a focus on Microsoft technologies development.
• Strong knowledge of SharePoint platform, including SharePoint Online and SharePoint Server. 
• Familiar with Azure resources like Azure AD, Functions, Web Apps and Storage accounts. 
• Proficiency in development tools, such as Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, and PowerShell. 
• Experience in developing SharePoint solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, C#.Net, SQL, SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Azure and Power Platform. 
• Proficient in development of Power Apps, Canvas, Model-driven App and Power Automate. 
• Proficient in working with SharePoint APIs, RESTful services, and the SharePoint App Model.  
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SharePoint applications, including performance and usability problems. 
• Conduct testing and quality assurance of SharePoint solutions to ensure they meet business requirements. 
• Stay up to date with the latest SharePoint technologies and best practices and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and user experience. 
• Available provide support outside of regular hours, on weekends, or whenever the need arises. 

Good to Have: 

• Integrate SharePoint with other business systems and third-party applications, such as CRM or ERP systems. 
• Implement security measures and permissions to ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational policies. 
• Have working know with MS Teams and Office 365 groups. 
• Ability to analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. 
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business IT, Computer Science or related disciplines. Professional certification in Microsoft Technologies preferred.

As a Mechanical Engineer - Industrial Machinery will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of challenging projects. This role is focused on Defence and piping projects across SA and WA.  You will work with our industrial team on a significant number of cranes, gantries and associated lifting equipment to support Defence infrastructure.  Other parts of this role will see you involved in fuel storage, mechanical piping and fuel handling facilities.  Having experience in either of these areas will be highly valuable in this role. Who are you?

As a Mechanical Engineer in our Industrial team, you will have experience in detailed designs, consulting or complex engineering projects from the mining, water, industrial or infrastructure sectors.  You will work with OEMs on product selection and installation but have the ability to customise and innovate, delivering unique solutions in challenging environments.

You will have the following skills and experience:

• Hold an accredited Bachelor of mechanical engineering or other relevant discipline
• Design experience with knowledge of local industry standards and local codes.
• Proven ability to work in engineering teams and manage projects to scope, budget and program.
• You are a Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or have eligibility to apply for this accreditation

The Opportunity

This role is a Systems Engineering – Mechanical role supporting Land Engineering Agency (LEA) providing engineering services to Commercial and General Service Vehicle Systems Project Office (CGSVSPO), in delivery of Vehicle Fleet Sustainment support. The Role

The Lead Power Systems Engineer will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of energy infrastructure. This includes modelling and performance assessment of renewable energy zones, onshore and offshore wind farms, solar farms, battery energy storage systems and synchronous condensers, network planning for transmission and distribution systems, commercial research and development activities, and providing technical advice to a wide range of national and international stakeholders including network owners, system operators, developers, original equipment manufacturers, governments and regulatory and financial institutions.

What Will You Do?

• Lead and develop a team of Power Systems Engineers to deliver superior project outcomes for clients
• Undertake power systems studies, including grid-connection, network planning, system strength impact assessment and research and development.
• Develop wide-area network and individual equipment models in a range of simulation tools and in particular PSS®E and PSCAD/EMTDC
• Perform harmonic assessment and harmonic filter design studies
• Conduct control system tuning of inverter-based resources including both the grid-forming and grid-following inverters.
• Prepare grid connection application documents and technical reports
• Interface with a wide range of clients and other industry organisations, including developers, original equipment manufacturers, network services providers, AEMO and international clients.
• Undertake generator performance standards compliance testing, model validation (R2) testing, and generator registration with AEMO, including liaising with site-based personnel during onsite commissioning.
• Develop technical solutions to complex network and connection issues.
• Provide project management and support across a range of projects.
• Advise our clients on the planning, design and optimisation of current and future networks, power generation including storage, and control system solutions for transmission and distribution systems.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards, to maintain a high-quality outcome.

What We Are Looking For
 

• You will be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering at a minimum with any relevant additional post-graduate study highly regarded
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering and of power systems theory relating to electricity transmission, distribution and generation and associated control and protection principles will be required for this role.
• Experience in power system modelling tools in particular with PSCAD and PSS/E will support your success in this role.
• Site and practical experience in a relevant area are also a plus for this role as is experience in power system model development, coding, scripting and automation, and experience in dynamic modelling using PowerFactory.

This is an opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer with Water Industry, Planning, Design or Construction Experience.

You’ll be a key member of KBR’s Water team who, in a joint venture with John Holland has been delivering Melbourne Water’s complex infrastructure projects through major design and construction framework, that will see us supporting Melbourne Water for well over a decade of continuous service.

The Opportunity:

Under broad supervision this position is responsible for the provision of specialist engineering services related to marine/mechanical engineering in the support of the material remediation of the configuration baseline of the ACSSPO.

Responsibilities

• Investigate shortcomings in design, materials and system performance against contract specifications and participate in the development of solutions to resolve the problems.
• Review and comment on engineering changes, including supporting ILS documentation.
• Liaise with multiple stakeholders including ACSSPO staff, LHD ship’s staff, the In-service Support Contractor (Navantia), OEMs and Lloyd’s Register in the course of your duties.
• Participate in the development and conduct of tests and trials to determine system performance against design intent.
• Provide specialist advice in support of the RP team members engaged in multi-disciplinary projects.
• Produce detailed technical reports and associated documentation as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Degree in electrical engineering.
• 8 years plus experience, preferably in a naval engineering environment.
• Able to work with in the Seaworthiness Management System.
• Qualified to hold a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) delegation

• Ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA NV1 clearance at minimum

Working as a Desktop Support Engineer you will be responsible for the provision of all aspects of Desktop Services to a key Datacom customer.
