Stahl Metall is a leading Defence manufacturer of Custom Cable Harness Assemblies, Complete Communication, Power / Electrical Enclosures, Box Assemblies. Full 'Plug and Play' Systems.

Stahl Metall has an opening for an Engineering Technologist / Engineer to join the team at their manufacturing facility in Knoxfield (South-East) Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manufacturing cable and harness to IPC-620 (Class 3) standard.
• Performing soldering and integration activities to IPC standards.
• Read and understand work instructions, assembly drawings and follow established procedures.
• Take precision measurements to ensure perfect form, fit, and function of components.
• Performing electrical and mechanical assembly, testing and QA.
• Carry out basic quality and testing checks.
• Proactively participate in the continuous improvement of LEAN systems and processes.
• Follow health and safety precautions
• Keep up to date the contents of the Quality Management System and apply it to daily work.
• Identify areas of improvement to existing work procedures and practices
• Monitor the effectiveness of risk control measures

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant field.
• Experience/certified in IPC/WHMA-A- 620 (Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies).
• 3 Years manufacturing experience in a related industry
• Good understanding of quality control principles
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition
• Experience with Mil spec connectors, Heatshrink tubing, splicing and over-moulded components
• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• LEAN or other continuous improvement will be highly desired
• Ability to work within a team or autonomously
• Structured problem-solving skills
• Accurately record and document all work performed using the relevant company in-process and QA inspection procedures.
• Complete assigned tasks on time and accurately.
• Monitor regularly the effectiveness of risk control measures

Salary Range: $70,000- $80,000 pa
