The client is seeking to appoint a dedicated full-time, permanent Program Convenor Bachelor of Information Technology to join a dynamic team. The Program Convenor Bachelor of Information Technology will be primarily responsible for the academic leadership and coordination of the Bachelor of IT program.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, industry-relevant education, fostering an environment of academic excellence, and enhancing student learning experiences. Yoy will play a crucial role in curriculum development, academic planning, and the overall success of the program and its students.
Requirements:
Relevant qualification at the level of a Ph.D. with 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position, OR at least 5 years of relevant work experience
In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Lead the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the curriculum in alignment with TEQSA standards and industry demands.
• Teach key units within the program, employing innovative teaching strategies that foster student engagement and learning. Guide academic staff in adopting best practices in pedagogy and student assessment.
• Mentor and support academic staff, promoting professional development and excellence in teaching, research, and service.

• Facilitate a collaborative and inclusive academic environment.
• Provide academic leadership in student affairs, including advising, mentoring, and supporting student academic progress.

• Engage in scholarship and research that contributes to the body of knowledge in Information Technology, enhancing the institute's academic profile and supporting students in research-related activities.
• Foster relationships with industry stakeholders to ensure the program's alignment with current and future workforce needs.
• Facilitate opportunities for student internships, placements, and industry projects.
• Ensure program compliance with national accreditation standards and contribute to the preparation of accreditation submissions.
• Regularly review and report on program outcomes, making data-informed decisions for continuous improvement.
• Perform administrative duties associated with the coordination of the program, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Participate in academic committees and contribute to the strategic planning of the department and institution.
Skills
The key skills will include:
• Expertise in IT, particularly in Cyber Security and Application Development
• Must have at least two years of ICT teaching experience
• Strong courseware development skills are essential.
• Sensitivity to the needs of international students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills especially in student facing situations.
