You will be leading the development of renewable projects including wind, solar and battery storage that will need your stewardship through the development life cycle to financial close.

The role is based in our Melbourne or Sydney office – with site visits required to our development sites, stakeholders and communities. Our current portfolio consists of a mixture of greenfield through to late-stage assets, and with your help, we’ll be growing the pipeline to feed more projects into the construction phase.

Essential Job Functions

Project Development

• Potentially anything that falls under the banner of Project Development from landowner liaison, development approvals, grid connection, EPC procurement, PPAs etc. Treat the projects as if they are your own.
• Assist the wider Investment Team through asset growth opportunities as required, including bringing your contributions and knowledge into project evaluations, acquisition bids, transaction and negotiation processes, due diligence work and supporting Investment Directors through internal approval processes.
• Provide leadership in developing sound relationships with relevant stakeholders including landholders, community, Traditional Owners, regulators and policy makers.
• Manage project teams of multidisciplinary internal and external experts, including technical, planning, legal, grid, environmental and engineering advisors.
• Selecting advisors, consultants, OEMs, and construction contractors (including EPC contractors), running procurement process and contract negotiations through to financial close.
• Take the lead role for negotiation of high value contracts including project construction (EPC etc), equipment supply and transmission connection agreements.
• Manage the grid connection process, working closely with NSPs and grid consultants, to navigate the complexity of the technical, regulatory, and commercial connection landscape.
• Manage the delivery of development works within allocated budgets in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
• Development of project execution plans including timelines, costs, risk assessments, communication of project financials and progress reports in a consistent manner across the assigned projects.
• Development of required inputs for management papers, board papers and commercial negotiations as required.
• Prepare and manage budgets for Capex and Opex, project schedules, and technical inputs into financial models, supporting overall project business case development.
• Support our fundraising efforts, including meeting with prospective investors, promoting the Octopus profile, and supporting our fund managers with development expertise as required.
• Support ongoing profile raising activities – networking with industry participants and at times engaging with energy policymakers to influence energy policy.

As a member of the Unit 42 team, you will be one of the founding members of a newly formed team that is responsible for the successful adoption of purchased U42 offerings and driving the increased up-sell of additional services/products. We are looking for experienced SaaS sales or customer success professionals (ideally with cybersecurity domain expertise) who want to make an impact in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Your Impact 

• Ensure customers are maximizing their return on investment by owning the customer’s on-boarding, adoption, satisfaction and advocacy across a portfolio of customers

  • Provide high touch/white glove customer outreach immediately post close to shepherd customers through the on-boarding process

  • Drive adoption- ensure customer applies the offering hours in a timely manner

  • Ensure customer is measurably satisfied with the service they are receiving

  • Informing customers of refresh needs and options 

  • Proactively identify up-sell opportunities and grow revenue

• Develop a trusted advisor relationship with customer stakeholders, executive sponsors and partners to drive cybersecurity solution adoption to ensure they are leveraging the solution to achieve full business value

• Be the first line of defense in solving customer support requests, and coordinating and prioritizing timely resolutions with consulting teams and become a Subject Matter expert over time

• Ensure continual communication with customers on Unit 42 messaging, current and offerings updates, events, main points of contact within Unit 42, and touchpoint for all feedback from our customer

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of typical business challenges faced by customers and common objectives to appropriately map services and associated business benefits to address their needs

• Serve as a customer advocate in influencing service and product roadmap and improvements

• Partner closely with sales and consulting teams to develop and apply these processes - Must be able to build trust and influence 

• Manage performance metrics CSAT, Renewal rate, Upsell / Cross-sell lead identification, Reference-ability, Renewal likelihood, Adoption, Consumption, Customer Engagement

• Capture and nurture CISO and execute relationships to influence the recurring strategic spend

As the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our organization's transformation towards true DevOps practices, ensuring quality and safety is built into our Digital Engineering practices.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead and oversee the Quality Engineering function. Ensure that all aspects of quality assurance, including engineering practices around unit testing\integration testing, functional UI testing, performance, security quality assurance processes are consolidated into a cohesive and efficient practice to ship our Digital products faster and safer to production.

You will be instrumental in integrating quality engineering practices seamlessly into our development pods and deployment chain, enabling us to deliver high-quality software products to our customers faster and more reliably. Key to your success will be your ability to lead and inspire a team of quality engineers and developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

By championing best practices in quality engineering and driving strategic initiatives, you will be at the forefront of our journey towards Digital excellence in digital engineering and digital product delivery.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop and communicate a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with the goals and objectives of the Digital Engineering teams and business lines. incorporating modern Digital engineering, cloud-native development methodologies and best practices.
• Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers and testing professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning to support the delivery of high-quality digital products.
• Inspire the broader Digital engineering community to take ownership in quality as part of their day to day development activities.
• Establish and optimise quality assurance processes and methodologies, including QE automation frameworks, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and modern testing techniques (e.g., shift-left testing, behaviour-driven development, AppSec, Load testing etc).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality engineering practices seamlessly into the DevOps pipeline and DevOps ways of working. Ensure that quality is built into every stage of the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies for digital products, encompassing functional, non-functional (performance, security), and usability testing, and leveraging automation to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality engineering processes, tools, and practices, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to introduce innovative solutions that improve product quality and delivery speed.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including product owners, developers, designers, and senior leadership, to ensure alignment on quality objectives and priorities, and communicate progress, outcomes, and challenges related to quality engineering initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate quality-related risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, security standards, and industry best practices, and implement processes and controls to monitor and manage risks effectively.
• Evaluate and select appropriate testing tools and technologies and manage relationships with vendors to ensure that the team has access to the necessary resources and support to execute quality engineering activities effectively.
